But you said the beta "is far away" - I think I read somewhere that they want to release the new 2.0 version in 2012, so there isnt that much time anymore. Or was that wrong and it doesnt come this year?

That was the goal at one point but no one expects it to come out before the year's over, most likely sometime in Q1 of 2013.

No it doesn't. The alpha just started today at will last at least a month. Beta will come after that and last quite a long time. 2012 was not a possible date since long ago now.

"Winter 2012" is December 21 to March 19, so it's still possible, and also overlaps mostly with Q1 2013.

It's slated to start after the Alpha, which is currently scheduled to last for a month. However, an extension in Alpha is possible if there's some critical bug in the game.

and are the people who play the alpha version (which is running atm I think?) allowed to talk about it / post videos etc?

As there's an NDA agreement in place with the Alpha testers, no. Currently only the Japanese playerbase has their hands on the Alpha (NA/EU people will join in the Alpha test after the third Alpha phase), but even then there's some info slowly trickling out despite the NDA agreement in place and a few people already got banned from the game for it. Expect this trend to multiply when NA/EUP people join the Alpha test.

will the new ff14 2.0 disc cost the same as a "full game" (~50€ here for most pc games) or will it be cheaper?

There's no information as to what the price will be for the game when ARR is finally out.

and last question for now, I bought ff14 and played it a few days long time ago, I still have my account, but i dont have any disc´s anymore, will I be able to free download the 2.0 version somehow or will I have to buy the disc again?

I'm pretty sure the devs said the game will be available for download, and it will (probably) be free if you have an account. However, keep in mind that this is a subscription game so you'll still have to pay a subscription fee.

Edit: will there be some kind of friend pass / test pass, anything to invite a friend to test the 2.0 version for a few days?

There will be a free-trial period for the first (few?) months or so after the game releases.

well I would like to read/learn a few things about the "old" version, because I dont think that everything will change and I would guess that the "best" site for this version would update with the 2.0 version informations at release.
I am mostly interessted in the gear/stat system but I cant find any good wiki with gear informations. (for example Is there still gear swap for every spell/ws like in ffxi, or is there no macro gear swap in the ffxiv version atm?)

Mooglebox is good if you want to look on all the gear. And no, there is no gear swapping during battle line in XI.

Even though SE hasn't released anything official I'd say that it'd be a safe bet that the PC version will be $30 and the PS3 version will start at $40. Go check Amazon's or Best Buy's websites. These prices could change at any time, but I wouldn't be surprised if those prices are close to what the official prices will be.

Almost everything gameplay wise is gonna change drastically in ARR. The only thing you should catch up on is the overall story and lore, everything else will be different (including content that is being ported over).
