FFXIV 2.0 Random Speculation/Question Thread XII: End Of An Era - ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!

I haven't looked into anything ffxiv related, but I wanted to ask those here that have been playing it and kept up on what's going to be released in 2.0. Is this game casual where you can still get stuff done? Do you absolutely have to have 18+ people for endgame stuff? After 2.0, will this game be p2p and if so, how much? Thanks for any answers!

Group of 8 is all you need for end game. For 2.0 end game we're supposedly seeing some form of 24-man PvE content and also new 8- man raid that will be expanded upon as time goes on. There will also be PvP of some kind added.

I think it's gonna be like 12-15$/mo for new subscribers.

Thanks for the response. I'll wait awhile until after 2.0 is released if I do decide to subscribe, but a game where I need to be involved 3-5 days a week may not be in my schedule anymore.

You don't "need" to be involved for any set number of days. Find a group that suits you or gather some people with similar schedules. It's just a game after all.

I hear what you're saying. I guess it's just me that goes overboard with it. During my time in ffxi I put in a lot of time for not much reward. I've been bouncing back and forth if I'd even want to pick up another mmo because I need to put my time elsewhere. I guess I'll just play it by ear and see how ya'll feel about 2.0

You'd need to search for torrents, there is no official download.

Yes there is an official one I believe. I got my game from the US Amazon.com store along with a digital download. A purchase might be required to actually get access to the download client.

No there is no "hidden" alpha group on here, there is no alpha discussion on BG.

It was a legitimate question since there was a special group on BG for 1.0's alpha/beta.

First of all i tried to search for few key words to find answeer but unfortunatly i could not find a clear enough statment, supousedly becouse of how old this facts are, so i apologise in advance if im bringing back a dead horse.

-well today i was cleaning my desk and i found my security token so i decided to see whatever happened to this game.I was playing quite hardcorish in before i had to take a break .Now i saw there is a new version/client /servers down etc etc hype whatever.

So i wanted to know since i did not even changed servers when they merged them, if i will be able to re-locate my chars into the new client.

Also please correct me if im wrong , but the servers are down and unplayable since sept?¿Or if i reactivate now there is still a chance to play in the servers before the old version dies out?

Thanks in advance for sharing the info and sorry for not finding clear info on the subject , i must be really bad searching this.

I belive is pointless to reactivate now (or not even sure if im able to) atm.

this still does not answers my question if the chars will be avaliable to port to V2 if i never changed servers on the first merge.

Your server status on your account lists you as on Gugnir. That's a new server--the old ones were named after Final Fantasy cities, the new ones after weapons. Your character should be fine, but you won't be a "Legacy" member if you never paid for 3mo of game time. (Which means you weren't a badass who fought at Carteneau Flats)

Technically, I'm pretty sure the servers are up--but nothing you do will be saved. It's more for uhh well, I don't know, some masochists wanted to continue playing, but anything you do now will NOT carry over. Anything you did before November 11th WILL carry over.
