What time exactly does the beta test start on the 25th? A specific time wasn't mentioned on the Lodestone message.

Disregard
Are the beta forums (and all other SE forums, pretty much) borked for anyone else? I've tried accessing on several PC's now. They're not loading correctly, it looks like 1996-era HTML. Clicking any link just brings up the login page. I can successfully log in, only to be taken back to the login page again if I click links. It's weird.
1. It's happening on more than one machine
2. I registered my beta code yesterday with no problems
3. I log into my SE account regularly (still play FFXI) so I know my credentials are fine
4. I've logged into the SE forums before
Any ideas?
Edit- should have added:
5. Tried on IE8 and Chrome
I think I've seen what you're describing before, it usually happens when a page can't load the .css information.
Quick, everyone go read the "I am severely dissappointed in ARR" thread.
Comedic gold the 1.0 rose colored glasses going on.
Can anybody, who is in the beta, give me some info on what you think of the 2.0 beta? Mainly curious about the combat and UI, because 1.0 made me feel like I was fighting the UI w/ everything i tried to do (combat and everything). If you can't say it publicly PM would be great. thank you!
Ksandra just made a new thread and said,
Is this true and does anyone have a link to a quote alluding to this?Hopefully things related to how we can help continue to lessen the gap since they aren't doing regional servers it looks like.
Not sure where that impression comes from. Maybe because the beta servers aren't? Yoshi has not reversed his decision on regional data centers for release as far as I know.
Yes, and we will be getting regional servers in Beta Phase 4.
Ok good, as I was about to be disappointed if there were no regional servers at retail release.
I have a question about the goobbue mount. I ended up getting it in 1.0 before they shut down servers but I want to play on a new server at launch with some friends. Is there anyway for me to keep the goobbue mount or am I screwed?
Goobbue mounts are character-bound (as opposed to account-bound like any Legacy benefits or item-codes). So, the only way to have the Goobbue mount on a "new" server is to wait until they allow transfers to them... which I wouldn't expect to happen in less than a year from relaunch.
Emailed SE for support, still waiting for a reply. But I solved the problem on my own, thanks to a post I saw in the general FFXIV OF. Figured I'd post it here in case anyone else encounters the same issue:
For some reason my SE account management profile had two FFXIV accounts, called FFXIV 1 and FFXIV 2. I think #1 might have been from my original launch account, as I had a lapse before I picked it back up again after a few patches. At any rate, the old FFXIV 1 account was listed as inactive, while the FFXIV 2 account was active and linked to my characters. I clicked the button to "reactivate service" for the FFXIV 1 account, and that seemed to somehow free up my overall SE account. I take it that the general SE account was somehow defaulting to the deactivated FFXIV account instead of the active one.
That sort of sounds confusing I guess, but if anyone else has a similar problem feel free to PM me.
So I've tried updating the beta client (did not play alpha) and i keep getting stuck trying to update the client:
Unable to download patch files
[30413] [10009] [19900] [12017].
This is what I keep getting. Antivirus, Anti-Malware, and Firewall are all off.
Also, every time I start the client i keep getting a notice (through windows) asking me which windows account I want to use. This happening to anyone else?
Edit: Well, I got it to move past that point somehow but now updater just keeps crashing and I cannot progress any farther.
Maybe because the servers will be offline for a few more days?
My number one hope for ARR is that they keep the song for Thanalan. Videos they showed didn't have it though.
I mean listen to this shit. Some of the best FF work ever.
They have ideas for a juke box type of thing for Uematsu' music according to the media tour but he does seem to lose his touch with most of the music he produced so i'm not sad to see it go excluding the few masterpieces. I really do hope though that twilight over thanalan stays in its rightful zone.
