Please look forward to E3
Even though my WiiU hasn't seen too much action (still glad I bought it at Black Friday for 170), I find it extremely enjoyable to use, esp since I like to watch TV and play. The battery life is very poopy though.
X1 is also down to $300 now doesn't help Wii U sales.
I bought the official high-capacity Wii U gamepad battery from Nintendo and it works really well. It lasts like 8 hours and it has never drained completely while playing even during a long session. It's not too expensive and you can get it straight from the Nintendo site so I highly recommend it if the short battery life of the gamepad bothers you
Nintendo deny the production halt of wiiu
Of course that could just be so that they can sell the rest of the stock
Guess theres the chance this really could be the halt of the current model of WiiU and they are moving to a silm/alt version or something along those lines. The speed at which Nintendo denied the rumor plus the fact they don't usually comment on rumors at all certainly is interesting. Big N sure has been having alot of issue with rumors and leaks over last year. From what I've heard WiiUs are actually getting a little scarce these days. Low stock from the years of low sales has been eclipsed by the surprisingly surge of interest in Mario Maker and Splatoon., especially in Japan. My store goes weeks between getting 2-3 WiiUs and they usually only last a few days.
Much as I love my Wii U though they do need to kill it and turn focus to whatever they decide NX is. I get that the denial and standing with Wii U is probably just about consumer confidence in purchasing it but who do they really think they are fooling?
The issue i'm having with halting WIIU, is for me personally, tit means Sell your WIIU before it breaks. Because no WIIU production means not lot of chance of repair parts too.
I just sent mine in for repairs on Monday. Annoyed that it died at all, and the error code was a serious one. Gave me a real "Red Ring of Death" feeling in the service call, too: They didn't tell me what happened but gave me something akin to "We're aware of the problem and we'll repair it even if it isn't under warranty."
Shit sucks, though. Possibility they can't fix the problem and might end up sending me back a replacement unit. RIP save data.
Didn't know the Wii U had a Red Ring esque problem.. Time to back everything up on the external~
I don't have the information on me, but my console would boot to the profile menu and then not do anything after selecting one. Cycling power would cause it to boot with error code 1063 (iirc) and a bunch of debug data. Customer service rep asked me what the data was and upon the last part, asked me for the diagnostic code. Mine started with "XXXX" and he outright said "Wait, what? Most of them start with 'MH number number.' 'XXXX' is baaaad."
That was followed by the "we're aware and will replace it for you no matter what" line, so I'm thinking this was just a faulty part similar to the RRoD. Cheaper to do the repairs for free than to recall or risk class-action for selling defective hardware. I've had my Wii U for a couple years but only just started to really sink time into it, the console had maybe 80 hours of play on it prior to Zelda coming out.

Ill take Mirror Edge over this
wrong thread
I didn't want to bump the Zelda U thread that is 1 year old just for rumors but this girl seems to be a reliable source so

Rumor #1: Yes, Zelda is coming to both Wii U and NX. I confirmed it with a ton of people. You can choose which one to get. Or get both.

Rumor #2: I heard from multiple sources that you can choose between a male or female as your playable character in Zelda.

Rumor #3: There is voice acting for most of the characters...except Link.
Rumors sound like what i expected. To be honest, and some people may think this blasphemous, i would like to see a basic character creator of some kind. Not just male female. Something with height and weight, some basic faces and skin tones. Link being the base iconic look of course. I feel like we're moving away from structured linear gameplay and more towards open world and customization.
The legend of Zelda is not final fantasy
The legend of Zelda Is link, he is the central point of the whole series, that and dungeons.
Master sword, Zelda, ganon can be absent ( like some games did). But imo Link cannot change too much or people won't feel that it's " the legend of Zelda"
I suppose. I think i have just been having an itch to play skyrim lately.
I'm fine with those rumors if true, as long as Nintendo doesn't pull a TP where they release the NX first, then Wii U a month later (we know they will). Also, I hope that we'll see a Zelda Maker soon, involving Zelda 1, 3, 4. Since the create your own level feature that Mario Maker has is what the Zelda staff wanted originally when making Zelda.
