Toys r us sold out
Went back to GS to preoder a Pro Controller and Pikman 3 just in case.
She was telling me that the Pro Controller is almost sold out, so if youre wanting one, better get it.
I have the Classic controller form the Wii. wouldnt that be the same? Also, I was able to get a back up deluxe at Best Buy if my Game Stop order falls through.
Slighty different. They both work on U too.
Im trying to find out if none Motion+ remotes work on WiiU though. I think remotes will only work if theyre Motion+.
I believe ever other Wii accessory is compatible though.

I can't why normal Wii Remotes wouldn't work. I highly doubt many games are going to use precision(not that M+ was precise at any rate) motion for its gameplay, and rather just keep it around as a low-button/waggle-flick option for the players not using the WiiU default controller.
It makes me curious how they're going to dictate the game boxes as far as supported controller options go, and how Nintendo is making this the least amount a pain in the ass as possible for developers to support all applicable devices, since folks *will* have a lot of Wii controller options carried over.

Personally expecting a lot of multi-plats to ignore the touchscreen outside of basic interface shit just to check the 'totally supporting innovation!' box.
I did read or hear somewhere that motion+ support only for WiiU
If that's the case, it might explain why Nintendo will be making WiiU branded Wii Remotes. Wonder if they'll allow Normal Remote + MotionPlus adapter at least. That'd allow me to use all three of my Wii remotes for it. I already invested enough in stupid Wii related controllers, I'm not rebuying shit for the sake of it.
The only + remote I have is from Zelda.
Im debating to hold off and see if some newish WiiU one will come out (even though no announcement atm, so probably not), or just buy a used Wii one now.
But it will be curious to see what controllers will work with what games.. I mean.. you cant use more than one at the same time, right? It's not physically possible with only two hands. Pad or Controller or Remote. At best maybe put the pad in a cradle and use it as a secondary screen for maps and such, and use the controller/remote mainly.. and this is the point where I just remembered the pad has controller built in and it's not just a touch screen.. so just ignore this paragraph.
So really there is no need to buy a pro controller, unless the pad is terribly uncomforatble for long periods, or just playing fighting games where it may not be needed.
I dont recall, does the pad have remote type sensoring? I remember Reggie saying gyroscope, but not sure about point sensors. I guess if it has that too it would make the remote kind of pointless as well. Though I cant imagine trying to play a skyward sword type game with the pad instead of the remote, where a weapon mimics your remote. If that was the case would be akward using two hands to make a swinging motion with a one hand sword.
Totally overthinking all of this.. *shrug*
i played the new super mario on wii u with the normal wiimote(no +) so i would assume it works fine lol
It was confirmed Wiimotes+ and regular Wiimotes will both work with the Wii U.
Far too many controller options, as far as I'm concerned. I don't relish the thought of buying a pro controller, a wii mote + nunchuck and/or motion + as well as using the tablet.
Well, most people that will get a Wii U, most likely had a Wii anyways.
Majority of the games will be using the primary Wii U controller anyway since it's the spotlight.
Pro controllers will likely become the 'multiplayer' controllers for those that don't already have Classic Controllers/Wii remotes that can substitute. Will depend on game, but if Wii was a sign of things, won't be that many that require more than the bare minimum. Doubt many will take the kitchen sink approach like SSBB where they just let you use whatever the fuck you wanted though.
Hope they made the controller-port menu less a pain in the ass on WiiU though. On Wii, to switch players, you either swapped remotes, or had to re-do them all one at a time.
Sure it is. I mean, other than the obvious nunchuck+wiimote which is technically two different controllers, it's perfectly possible to use half of a controller for one thing and another for something else. I've used my ps3 controller and a mouse at the same time when playing wii games on dolphin before (controller for movement, dpad, and 2 buttons, mouse for aiming and the remaining buttons). It worked pretty well actually.I mean.. you cant use more than one at the same time, right? It's not physically possible with only two hands.
-You can watch Netflix or Nintendo TVii on the Wii U's GamePad, but not while you're playing games. No real multi-tasking here.
-No Virtual Console or Wii games on your GamePad either. Wii channels and games will be accessible on your big screen, in SD. "Think of this as having a Wii inside our new console," Fils-Aime said.
-The Wii U will launch with video chat, an Internet browser, Nintendo TVii, and the digital eShop. Fils-Aime says there are no other included games or software like the 3DS's Face Raiders or Find Mii.
-The Wii U's game download store, the eShop, will be region-locked. Fils-Aime wouldn't tell me whether packaged software would be too.
So much for multitasking and playing VC games on the shitter :/
Regarding the controllers: Nothing beats the gcn's controller. I still use them for as much as possible.... which is actually quite a lot.
edit: Relatively. I have 6 wii games and play them very rarely.
