From the tests I did, the console HAS ALOT of potential. Just need the deloppers to use that potential
It seems to me like the touch screen on the controller is a lot easier of a 'new' interface for 3rd party devs to plan for. When the first Wii came out motion control was relatively new and nobody had any experience. Now at the very least most devs can put map and menu information to start and go from there. Plus you have people used to working with tablet gaming already.. I'm anticipating some really interesting uses.
A lot of major retail stores getting their demo units in

http://gematsu.com/2012/10/warriors-...er-screenshotsThe latest set of screenshots for Tecmo Koei’s upcoming Wii U enhanced port Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper show off the game’s Duel Mode and new stages.
Duel Mode, a new mode which combines musou action with card battles, can be played player against player, against the computer, or through the network. Players select three commanders and battle a deck of four cards, each with different effects and attributes.
New stages revealed include: Osaka Castle, Chengdu Hell, Hasedou, Shin Koshi Fortress, and Cursed Fortress.
Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper is due for Wii U on November 18 in North America, November 30 in Europe, and on December 8 in Japan.
http://gematsu.com/2012/10/retro-rpg...or-wii-u-eshopTwo Brothers, Ackkstudios’ Kickstarter-funded action, adventure, role-playing, and nostalgia game for PC, Xbox 360, and OSX, will see release on the Wii U eShop in 2013, NES is reporting.
Ackkstudios, which just became a licensed Wii U developer, is currently in the early stages of porting the game.
The largely one color game, a love letter to the Gameboy era of games, tells the tale of young inventor Roy Guarder, who is obsessed with the idea of finding a new color on earth after a near death experience reveals to him an afterlife of color.
Additionally, Ackkstudios has a second RPG, this one an “ambitious modern 3D RPG” with visuals influenced by games like Earthbound and The World Ends With You, which it plans to reveal at PAX East in March 2013. Wii U is being strongly considered for its platform, though final system(s) have not been decided.

http://www.computerandvideogames.com...med-for-wii-u/Publisher EA has confirmed that Need for Speed Most Wanted is headed to Wii U in 2013.
"We are very excited to deliver Need for Speed: Most Wanted on more platforms and to more gamers," said an EA rep to Polygon.
"Starting Oct. 30, Most Wanted will be available on X360, PS3, PS Vita, Android and iOS. Then in 2013, Nintendo fans will be able to experience what it means to be Most Wanted amongst their friends on the Wii U."
'2013' is as specific as EA is willing to get at this time.
Depending on this works out, this could be a really awesome promotion. I hope there's the option to earn points back through games other than Wii U games; if not this won't be quite as awesome.
http://www.giantbomb.com/news/new-de...romotion/4432/Even if 32GB isn’t that much and a black Wii U might not match your living room setup, Nintendo is producing a solid incentive to pick up the Wii U Deluxe Set with its digital promotion bonuses.
Anyone who purchases the $399 Wii U Deluxe Set becomes part of a two-year (November 18, 2012 through December 31, 2014) promotion that will give consumers money back for making digital purchases. For every 500 points earned through purchases, you get $5 back. Pick up New Super Mario Bros. U for $59.99, for example, and you’ll have earned 599 points, enough to get $5 back.
You will not be able to participate with a vanilla Wii U Basic Set, nor will you accrue points with purchases made on the 3DS eShop. The latter is bothersome, though one assumes (hopes?) Nintendo will come up with a way to unify the platforms, and allow Wii U Basic Set owners to purchase their way into the digital benefits program. Nintendo has not made any comments on this possibility yet, and the company confirmed the inability for Wii U Baset Set owners to opt-in when I asked today.
Weirdly, however, redemption points earned through Wii U eShop purchases can be used to buy games on the 3DS eShop. That's good but weird, I guess? A website is launching in December to help users manage their accounts.
So wait they are selling the console, with a loss, and then giving more money back if you buy enough online?
I'll be interested when I see new Zelda.
Yea I'm not going to lie the prospect of a new Nintendo system is great. But I need to see more games besides Mario etc before purchasing.
I don't know if they're selling it a loss (they may very well be, I truly don't know) but yes that's what it seems like. The question for me is will it be for only Wii U games or will I be able to purchase anything and get points/credit back. My guess is probably Wii U titles only, but as long as I have a big selection of titles I can download from their store, I'll pick up some other lesser titles I want through the online store.
It said redemption points could be used on 3DS purchases, but points could not be accrued through 3DS purchases.
It takes a long time for first party Nintendo games to go down in price. Super Princess Peach (which is a six year old game) is still stocked at Toys R Us by me at $35. I was looking at picking up some older DS games just to kill time waiting for the 3DS games this fall/early next year and they're still in the $35 range as well; games like Super Mario 64 DS, Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, and a few others.
Splinter Cell coming to WiiU
● Challenge Mode: Challenge Mode tasks players with completing specific objectives, such as clearing a course without touching a single coin or touching the ground. There are four single-player Challenge categories: Time Attack, Coin Collection, 1-Up Rally and Special (miscellaneous challenges). Boost Mode Challenges require two players, with one player using the Wii U GamePad controller and the other using a Wii Remote controller. Once players complete a Challenge, the game saves a replay of the action so players can show off their accomplishments.
● Coin Battle: Up to five players can play together and compete to see who can collect the most coins. One player will use the Wii U GamePad controller while the other four players use the Wii Remote controller. The player using the Wii U GamePad controller in Boost Mode can place Boost Blocks to help grab hard-to-reach coins. Players can also use the GamePad to edit and customize the coin layout in courses found only in Coin Battle. The coin layout can then be saved and played by the players using Wii Remote controllers.
● World Map: New Super Mario Bros. U is the first side-scrolling Mario game since 1991’s Super Mario World that features a seamless World Map with named worlds and courses. The map contains many secret exits, which might change the map and cause shortcuts to appear. The worlds are interconnected, so people can play through the game in a nonlinear fashion.
● Nabbit: From time to time, a creature named Nabbit will appear on the world map. Players must enter the course and catch the speedy Nabbit to recover items stolen from Toad. If Nabbit is nabbed, players receive a powerful P-Acorn, which will allow them to fly continuously through an entire stage. The only way to obtain a P-Acorn is to catch Nabbit.
