Updating now too. Preordered at gamestop and I guess the one I went to didn't take anymore preorders than they knew they'd be getting systems (the correct fking way). So had no problems. Almost did though, the manager locked his keys in the back room lol.. luckily brought a few consoles up front before he did.
Got mario and nintendoland with the Deluxe, probably gunna get mass effect 3 at some point since I haven't played yet.

This update music sounds like I'm boarding a spacecraft
Share your Nintendo id!!! I wanna try the video chat!!!
I would have assumed the next-generation of consoles would all have a service mode that's independent of where the firmware is stored as a fail-safe.
Also annoyed to learn you can't multiplayer NSMBU with the gamepad(only the block-placing mode), or use a Pro controller. Not sure why Nintendo isn't showing an example of allowing you to use any controller the system supports that has an appropriate amount of buttons to play a character with, since it's just going to lead to a clusterfuck of Game A works with X Y Z, but not B & C, Game B works with B Y Z, but not C, and etc.
Just got mine, now to unpack it and find some room to put it lol...
Just got mine and did a quick trip around to other stores. Seems like most stores in this part of massachusetts are sold out. Toys R Us, Best Buy and the 2 In-mall Gamestops had <10 Black WiiU's each.
how is this surprising to anyone? lol
To be honest I was a little surprised that the Flagship Mario title isn't able to be played 1-player with just the gamepad. I'm sure that'll be a minor inconvenience for parents who purchased the system and NSMBU only to learn they gotta go and buy a WiiMotion Plus remote. Though for the most part, yes, expected.
Ive been playing Mario with the gamepad just fine.
Now I need to decide what I want to do with my Wii.. Put it back in it's original box, next to dreamcast and it's other buddies, or sell it.
50$ used is pretty lol. Might as well just keep it.
Oh? Well, then no issue, lol.
I am having an unusual problem with the Wiimote though. When I try to enter the Wii (old) menu, it asks to sync a wiimote, etc. I do, and its synced.. but no cursor appears. I can't select "Okay" to go to the wii menu, but the cancel (B) button works.. and the system says its synced etc.
posting from the wiiu browser pretty good
I'm hoping the whole TV thing goes well, I could really see WiiU and TV watching going hand and hand perfectly.
