I had Nintendo Land freeze yesterday a couple times (first time its done it) and went into the miiverse settinsg and changed it to display english only. No freezes since, though not a lot of test time. Supposedly it is a bug with foreign text rendering causing the game to hang. Patch is reportedly on the way however.

Others write turning off internet completely stops it for now, but likely is a more heavy-handed approach to the above and lends to the theory of being miiverse glitching out causing the issues.

I have never played a Scribblenauts game. Can someone explain them to me? Also can it be played on the gamepad? Fucking love that Mario and BLops2 can be. One of the best reasons to buy the system as a married man.

    Wii U - 11/18/12

Scribblenauts is a puzzle + imagination game

Your in a level and exemple someone says help me repair this car

So you need to take your notepad and write something to repair a car ( your imagination works)

That's about it for all the game

This is not a game where you can play 5h per day but its a good and fun way when you got like 30-1h bores

And yes you can play only on the gamepad

I think the best description is "sandbox puzzle game" where your arsenal is pretty much anything you would be able to find in a dictionary. You have nearly endless amounts of solutions to any puzzle and are rewarded (I think) for both simplistic solutions as well as obscure solutions.

Need to get that item out of a tree? Cut that fucking tree down. Create a teleporter to teleport into the tree. Sprout some motherfucking wings and fly into the tree. Ride a conveniently-placed escalator into the tree. Grappling-hook that bitch straight out of the tree.

Patch is supposed to correct these issues, right? Is there any indication it could be hardware related and not software? Shit wasn't exactly cheap.
If you notice the freeze usually happens from going from in-game to something that utilizes mii-verse or some other part of the online functionality.
It's currently thought that, that specific transition and/or code that is being called/used is buggy. A simple update should resolve the issue, the issue being they probably need to figure out why it's happening in what peice of code first.

The answer to every Scribblenauts puzzle is "Black Hole"

On the IOS version I had more fun creating a brawl of crazy creatures just to see who would win. I think "Zombie God" trumped all.. well except "Black Hole"

I haven't had much time with Unlimited, but I do find that I pretty much only use the game pad.. no reason to even have the TV on the WiiU

One of the biggest and certainly most legitimate complaints about the Wii U’s robust launch line-up are the many ports of games that were released for other platforms a few months, or even up to over a year ago. What good is a hit game for a brand new system that’s already been played to death on another console? Gearbox Software’s Randy Pitchford feels the same way, and in a recent interview with UK magazine GamesMaster (and reported by NintendoEverything), he explained why we won’t be seeing a port of Borderlands on our GamePads anytime soon:

We get asked if there is going to be a Wii U version of Borderlands, and the reason why there’s not is because we couldn’t think of a natural, obvious, ‘OMG, I want that for what the Wii U brings to the table’ feature.
Totally reasonable! I love that Pitchford is basically explaining why Gearbox isn’t going for the easy cash-grab–a pretty admirable trait. In addition, he brought up Gearbox’s forthcoming, eagerly anticipated shooter, Aliens: Colonial Marines as a counterpoint, explaining once again that the Wii U version is going to knock everyone’s socks off:

But with Aliens, the first thing we thought was ‘Holy sh*t, I can have a motion controller in my hands!’ When it’s there in my lap it feels like I’m part of the movie.

I wanted Borderlands for the Wii U so my g/f and I can do co-op on the TV and the tablet. That seems like something pretty cool in itself.

it was actually something i'd buy again for the Wii U i could imagine the pad would have the weapons lay out so you just pick from there instead of cycling though with y or triangle

Nintendo managed to sell 400,000 Wii U consoles across America last week, marking an impressive launch week for the company’s latest hardware. Nintendo of American head Reggie Fils-Aime has revealed more stats in a new interview.

Speaking with CNET, Fils-Aime confirmed that across Wii U, Wii, 3DS and DS, Nintendo sold around 1.2 million consoles in America alone last week. Black Friday sales were cited as a key driver in sales, helping Wii U’s launch figures trump the original Wii, which sold 300,000 units during its first week on sale.

Although it only launched on November 18th in the States, Fils-Aime stated that “Wii U is essentially sold out of retail,” and that Nintendo is now working to replenish stock, adding, “Retailers are also doing their best to get the product to store shelves. But as soon as product hits retail, they’re selling out immediately.”

Although Wii U is currently selling faster than its predecessor, Fils-Aime couldn’t foresee a repeat of stock shortages that befell the original Wii, and explained, “Wii was a unique phenomenon. You couldn’t walk into a retailer and buy a Wii until spring of 2009.

“We’ve certainly learned many lessons from that and we are replenishing retailers more quickly this time around. We are looking to have as much product into retail as possible. It’s driven by consumer response.”

Wii U launches across UK and Europe from November 30th.

Given Wii's launch was stricken by lack of supply, it wouldn't surprise me. Doesn't mean WiiU will end up actually selling more than the Wii after the initial launch rush tapers down though.

It's not like it's an opinion, both numbers are backed up by sales data. Major companies can't lie about stuff like that without repercussions from investors so no reason to doubt them.

Yep. We went to about 10 stores over the weekend looking for the PS3 holiday bundle and it was sold out. I could've walked away w/ a bunch of Wii Us if I wanted to. They also had piles of 360s.

The Wii I would bet was also a little bit of a slow starter. It didn't pick up huge steam until it got ran all over the news shows and such then every parents jaw dropped. You couldn't watch a news/entertainment news show without seeing the wii. It was even in a bunch of tv shows back then.

No it was just lack of product. You literally couldn't walk in to a store and buy a Wii without being lucky until like 2008, maybe even early 2009.

The first weekend they had lines at every store imaginable to get their stock - even Toys R Us and Target.
