im pleasantly surprised how challanging mario and ninja gaiden are. i havnt screamed at my tv in years.

miiverse is very cool too. would be neat if they let users create their own community too, would function like a sub forum.

if they can keep 3rd pty support Wii U has a bright future imo

And TVII won't be 100% operational lol, won't be able to access TIVO subscription (not my problem) or won't be able to access to view current recording on DVR

AKA only be able to search the guide atm it seems

Played a little with TVII and atm it works great. Be able to set Favorites TV show, for them to tell you when they play or favorite channels and change it while playing is cool

Sadly I don't think it's gonna beat my TV remote tho

It's silly. Functionality like TVii and other applications only convince people to buy the Wii U. When those buyers become owners, they're extremely unlikely to use those apps for their functionality--Is there anything worse than using more than one remote? No, so should we think its a good thing to start using the Wii U gamepad as a remote?

To repeat: it's silly. These applications are meant to sucker people in and buy the system. And when they own the system, they'll never use those applications.

But since those applications got people to buy the system in the first place, more resources will be spent on those kinds of applications.

I can't believe people are bitching about them recommending parents preemptively updating firmware on their Wii-U gifts so their brats can jump right into playing Mario on Christmas morning.

Forced if you connect to WiFi.

However, some games might force updates as well.

Oh, and the barebones system has 30+ second load times.

Its not forced, you can choose not to do it. Can even choose to not do it with a game.
