Yeah sorry for bitching, I know that people like to open the presents themselves, and not get presents that are preopened and recwrapped by the parents
But w/e![]()
lol, do you really think the average kid is going to care if someone opened the box and updated it to make it usable straight away? You're taking an anal retentive adult issue and trying to transplant it onto kids, it doesn't work. Most kids both wouldn't care and wouldn't notice over the fact of unwrapping said item for the Holidays.
Yes i'm gonna speak for myself, but 1-1h30 update is nothing to wait but anyway
As a Kid, and even as an adult, having the chance to open (unpack) the new console by myself is always exalting
And anyway I was never the type to play with my games after unwrapping on christmas
So unwrapping it, plugging to update while sleeping wouldve been perfect
But to each their own i guess
Lmao, you think children nowadays want to unwrap a brand new system, let it sit, then go to sleep? And play it the next day?
You don't even have to unwrap anything besides the game pad to get it to update. Its not even sealed.
And yeah, I really don't think kids will know or give a shit if its opened.
was at a friends for secret Santa Saturday my friends who had kids destroyed there wrapping paper like it was the end of the world, there children on the other hand opened everything gently
This. Why does it sound difficult to put it back in the box?
You would have to be pretty stupid to not be able to repackage it well enough to trick a child.
And if (for whatever unlikely reason) a kid figures out the AC adaptor was *gasp* opened before, the parents can tell them they updated it all and got it all ready for them to PLAY THEIR BRAND NEW VIDEO GAME RIGHT NOW. Do you really think they would be pissed? I would punch a brat/bitch in the face if they made a stink about me pre-updating their new $300 console for them.
Why has this been taken this far? Every system needs firmware updates a month+ after release. Even right now, every single time I turn on my PS3 to peruse what's on PSN or Netflix, I am locked out of both services until I sit through an update.
Aside from the fact that you can bypass the update and go straight to playing, I just don't understand why this suggestion got them so much shit. It makes sense on both a Christmas morning front and a bogged-down servers front.
some kids open presents in a civil manner, allegedly

http://www.siliconera.com/2012/12/31...ng-older-ones/Capcom haven’t announced any Wii U games beyond Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, but that doesn’t mean more aren’t coming.
Back in September, Capcom Senior VP, Christian Svensson stated: “There are many thousands of people who are thrilled with the announcement of what is our currently largest brand coming to Nintendo’s existing portable and new console platform. The significance of that should not be underestimated.”
Svensson added that, while he couldn’t divulge further details, Capcom have more Wii U projects in the works that will be announced at later dates.
This week, a user on the Capcom forums asked if Wii U support would possibly come in the form of older games being ported to the platform, such as Resident Evil 6 and Lost Planet 3 which are intended to be available across PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
To this, Svensson replied: “With regard to WiiU, in general we’re looking forward, not back so late ports are generally not on the table.”
As to why Resident Evil 6 doesn’t have a Wii U version, Svensson shared in a separate thread some time ago that development of the game began in 2008, well before Capcom even knew of the Wii U’s existence.

If you pick up a used Wii U, there's a chance you might also pick up some free games.
Well, that's according to a user on NeoGAF, who purchased a second-hand console to discover they could re-download any titles the previous owner had already purchased. And that was possible even though the previous owner had wiped the hard drive and removed their user account. The user in question was able to download Trine 2 and Nano Assault Neo.
So how can this be? It could be down to the fact that licenses for downloaded content are tied to specific consoles, not user accounts or Nintendo Network IDs. This feature allows multiple users on the same console to access all downloaded content, no matter which person originally purchased it. But it seems it also allows access to anyone who subsequently owns that console.
Nice article Ratata. You should write like that more often.
It's a copy paste from IGN![]()
Lol. I got Mario the other day. Only played up to the first castle but I like it so far. Girlfriend can't tell the difference between this and the one on the Wii.... I may have to let her go
