I do hope they roll how VC titles a bit quicker then what is hinted there. Does anyone know if you can use the tablet as just a normal controller via the wii or does it completly ignore it. Not a fan of the wiimote really and not even sure if it would work with the SNES titles on the Wii VC.

It plays on the tablet, also the upcoming releases with actual dates on there are part of the 30th anniversary and will be on sale for 30 cents for 30 days (currently Kirby is this title)

Mega-Man (NES) and Pac-Man (NES) both released on the virtual console today.

Also, on 16th May Super Ghouls’n Ghosts will be available for download and on 30th May Ghosts’n Goblins will be released.

Nintendo will debut its 3D Mario game for Wii U by October, according to a CVG report.

Additionally, according to sources “close to the matter,” Nintendo is preparing a “significant global Wii U marketing campaign,” which is scheduled to kick off at E3 next month.

The publisher is expected to debut “a number” of major Wii U games from summer until the end of 2014.

No further details were provided, but Nintendo has already confirmed its new 3D Mario, Mario Kart, and new Super Smash Bros. to debut at E3.

What are the chances of a Wii U price drop? I am guessing it will have to drop $50 or so if the PS4/Xbox releases @$400.

Entirely dependent on what they have coming out first party. With a new 3D Mario, Smash Brothers, Pikmin and Mario Kart on the horizon, I don't think they're going to be too concerned about not being able to move units for the remainder of the year (provided all of them are slated to release before the end of the year).

WiiU Hacked, Still no Homebrew

After the announcement of the Wii U Key which breaks Wii U’s security, a modding scene has released the first game dump.

The Avengers: Battle for Earth becomes the first unlucky Wii U game to be dumped and weighs in at 23GB. We will of course not be posting the direct link to that, but it looks like every game is padded to fill out the disc. It’s not clear whether the padded content can be removed at this stage or not.

The modding scene known as ‘Venom’ is quite an old player and this looks like a really bad news for Nintendo. The company had earlier released a statement saying that they were aware of “that a hacking group claims to have compromised Wii U security”, and they will be taking necessary legal steps to stop piracy.

The Wii U key enables piracy and doesn’t really benefit the homebrew scene much, so this is something that isn’t really advantageous to people looking to legitimately run emulators and the likes on the console.

Does it really matter if its hacked though? PS3, 360 and Wii were all hacked and that didnt seem to matter.

It all depends on if it's a software or hardware hack. Ps3 and 360 weren't super easy to do whereas the wii was. Lol @ wii getting hacked didn't matter.

It looks like the Wii U has been broken apart by the WiiKey team.
