August ?? New Super Luigi U Package version (Aka the disk you can buy at retail for 29.99 does not need New Super Mario Bros U to play)
Fall 2013 Zelda Wind Waker HD (HD remake of the GameCube Version)
2013 Date unknown Super Smash Bros and Mario 3d (Sunshine Galaxy types)

2014 Date unknown a New Legend Of Zelda

For other games not First party

There is Lego City undercover atm that imo is a must for WII U, it's fun, it's long, it's humor I love it and it's WII U exclusive

Other games that interest me but are not exclusive

August 2013 : Marvel Lego Super Heroes, I just love lego games lol
August 2013 : Splinter Cell Blacklist, I want the WII U version because i feel the gamepad inventory and map will give a different feeling for the game
September 2013 : Rayman Legends, Platform and all, and with the Challenges App on the Eshop and the demo, they really know how to use the gamepad.

Anyway that's my games opinions

Hmm I work at Target so employee discount plus Target Red card discount plus price drop. $200ish seems legit for a Wii U , I doubt it the 8gb model will drop lower then that.

That is indeed a good price but here are some points to note

Like I said (and this is my opnion) Exempt Nintendo Land (for party), New SuperMario Bros U, and Lego City undercover, there is not many titles that are needed atm (other titles like Batman, i'm pretty sure you played them on PS3 or 360)

Some games, like Lego City is like 30gig which won't even go on the Deluxe internal HDD

WII U OS takes like 4gig, so you got like 4 gig left on that 8gig disk

If you plan to get the Luigi's U DLC it's not a small DLC, official info still lacking but they said they remade the WHOLE mario game, and the Mario game takes like 4gig.

So if you get the WII U 8gig, and like mario game, you might not be able to get the Luigi's U DLC for 19.99 due to disk space, unless you get

1) and external HDD) or 2 just buy the retail version in August.

Or like i said I'm sure Nintendo will release bundle with their new games

So to those that actually have the console... is there a need for the higher hard drive? Other than VC games, what do you exactly put on it?

Depends if you the Digital or retail type

WII U OS takes 4Gig
NSMBU: More than 2GB of free space required.
Nintendo Land: More than 3.2GB of free space required
Lego city is 22gig

VC titles take almost no place afaik so that won't mather much

But still the Basic version only has 4gig left

Also the WII U doesn't support USB powered Disk you need an HDD with a power adapter, which sometimes can take place.

And also Nintendo is not Sony, exept FP, not alot of titles are on the eshop

So my guess? Get the 32gig since it's only 50$ more and be happy with it

Wii U has had a massive sales jump on Amazon UK since the Xbox One reveal. Its actually up to #11 now and thats for the Deluxe and not the Basic.

^ This. Any new console needs a good handful of exclusive IP games (Mario, Zelda, etc.) to go with them. People don't necessarily buy consoles for the hardware or the features; they buy them because they want to play the new Mario, or Halo, or Final Fantasy.

I've always imagined what it would be like if Nintendo/Gamefreak managed to make some sort of insane Pokemon MMO on PC or a non-handheld (perhaps Wii U) that took all the areas from the previous games and combined them into one HUGE-ASS world. You could still start out in whatever region you wanted, with what starter you wanted, and eventually go all throughout the world to "catch 'em all" and battle other players. Playing Super Mario World, it has felt perfectly fine. Not as light as a normal controller, but not really heavy imo.

The tablet controller is shockingly well done. Its not to heavy and fits well in/around your hands
