That mario party looked pretty good, especially with the tablet player against the other 4. Would need online play though, I don't know enough people that like the vidyas...
I know they should've done something long ago, but for me smash will be the ultimate test, to see what they can do with the online service
MK's online service is pretty damn good in terms of actual connections. They just need to let you chat when you want to and add a few more features. I could easily see them allowing short matches through standard public matchmaking, and longer matches for private games or tournaments.
It should happen, though, as its the only way I'm buying the game. I'm not going to plunk down the money to play alone or with 1 other person, and i dont see the point of spending the money to buy a game that may be played seriously only when I'm hosting a party.
Ya'll nigs need a girlfriend, and more friends. At any point in time I can at the very least conjure up three people, and filling a 4th slot with an AI on medium-hard is usually nbd.
Its not really lack of friends, its scheduling conflicts. Between work and school I hardly see any of the people I hang out with outside of the friends at work. On the other hand its nice to come home at 1130 pm and be able to play Mario Kart online with a bunch of people.
Just picked mine up today, after a very interesting experience at Best Buy in Buckhead.
So everyone knows about the Smash demo's going on right now. Well, i grabbed the $30 off coupon from that and was going to buy a Mario Kart 8 bundle. Except they are sold out. Went to the store and I spoke to the manager over the phone beforehand and she "ok'ed" the coupon use if I ordered the bundle from the store. Their local warehouse is sold out. She said it would be a few business days for them to ship it from their regional warehouse, but then they were sold out.
She disappears into the back for a few minutes, comes back out and says she has approval and is going to put together a bundle for me from what they have in the store. At this point I'm blown away just at them actually trying. So she goes in the back (they are still having the Smash demo, btw) and starts gathering the items (Console, Mario Wiimote +, Mario Kart 8, Wheel). The Nintendo reps (2 middle-aged women) by the Smash display stop her and say "Hey, I hope you're selling that" jokingly and the Best Buy manager told them what she was going and she told me that the 2 Nintendo reps kinda looked at here like "you serious?".
So anyway, turns out all they have left is the Super Mario Bros U w/ Super Luigi bundle for consoles (I was waiting around for ~15 mins, and had actually hoped all they had was the Zelda bundle. But beggars are certainly not choosers). So I get that, Wiimote +, MK8, and the wheel controller for 329.99 and then she took $30 off from the coupon.
300 Bucks got me 4 games (MK8, SMBU, SLU, Wind Waker HD DL), another wiimote, and a wheel controller along with a 32G Wii U.
Just thought I would share.
Speaking of which, I tend to name my consoles after Mecha. Last 2 Nintendo consoles were Wing Zero (Gamecube) and Lancelot (Code Geass) (Wii). Thinking this time VF-1S Valkyrie, but I'm open to suggestions.
I'm really considering picking up a Wii U now that they showcased some games I'd love to play. Need at least 2 more things that would put me over the top:
1. Nintendo, please please please PLEASE, can we have a Bayonetta bundle? That would be definitely awesome.
2. I know this is a long shot, but....F-ZERO! MAKE THIS HAPPEN! If this was a reality I'd be on that line so goddamn fast. Come on Nintendo, do it. You know you want to.
By bundle you mean Bayonette and Wii U?
I really doubt it lol
Ended up grabbing a Wind Waker HD Wii U bundle and monster hunter 3 ultimate today. any other recommendations besides mario kart?
Super Mario 3D World is pretty damn good. Picked that up alongside my console when I grabbed it earlier this week.
Wonderful 101 is fun if you like action games, sorta reminded me a lot of Bayonetta and DMC. Mario 3D world is really fun as well. Pikmin 3 if you enjoyed the previous pikmin games.
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge if you like action games, this version of the game fixed a lot of things that were wrong with the original NG3 and is actually pretty damn good.
Probably getting Pikmin 3 as my free MK8 game, but can't decide between that and New Super Mario Bros U tbh. Will definitely look into Wonderful 101 and Super Mario 3D world too, thanks.
I decided to go with Pikmin. Mario 3D world seemed like the overall better multiplayer Mario game and thats a must buy anyway, I've already played Wind Waker several times through, and Wii Party U comes with a free Wiimote if you buy physical. Didn't seem like much a thought process after i laid it out like that.
Problem with Mario Party is it takes so damn long to finish a game, I can't fathom 3 others staying connected to one match for 20+ rounds unless they rework the gameplay to allow all players to take their turn at the same time.
As well as mid-match joining in the case of a connection drop.
