Yeah, I went in and was the first one too so ill get it for sure on launch day.

Kinda annoyed, I traded in my 360 last week for 71 ish with the 30% bonus and now if you trade it in or a Wii U its 90. Oh well, I still have 61 dollars in store credit there so ill put that toward the Wii U.

Ordered it online from gamestop, you couldn't pay me to go into the local store here. I really wish Amazon and Nintendo would be friends again, though.

Not really excited about the launch titles as usual, but my launch Wii, I feel, is on its last legs and keeps locking up during "The Last Story" Also always out of space on it.

REALLY wish there was some firm dates on those games. ZombiU and Rayman I'm very interested in, but I can't find a solid release date anywhere.

I hate the idea of a launch window. Either the game is a launch title or it's not.

Cannot. Speculation is they'll add it to the Virtual Console. I hope they do because there's some Gamecube games that go for more than I'd want to pay so I'd love to be able to download them. Unfortunately if you already ahve them, you'll need to keep your Wii/GC around for that.

Does the WiiU support external hard drives? For some reason I keep thinking they said it would, so hopefully the 32gb HD won't be too big a problem..

I believe it was speculation when the hardware specs leaked, but I don't think it's been confirmed. This was on Giant Bomb from the Japanese conference, but it doesn't say much:

Iwata went over some basic specifications inside Wii U, but in typical Nintendo fashion, the company left plenty for people to speculate about. The machine supports outputs up to 1080p, and uses a "GPGPU." (No, I don't know what that means, either.) There's 2GB of memory within the system--1GB system memory, 1GB game memory. Finally, Wii U's game discs can feature up to 25GB.

They said a while ago they would support external. That was something they said they wanted to do to keep the cost down and let people pick and choose how much space they want. I have a 300 GB hard drive that im not using that id just turn external for it.

If it can read and play game cube disc, then there is no reason to keep my Wii and ill trade it in for the upgrade, if not, then ill just keep it to just play game cube games.

Back at E3 2012, our own Samit Sarkar reported an interesting tidbit of news: Nintendo was "working" on the ability to transfer old Wii digital software over to the Wii U.

Well, as of today, we finally have an answer. According to Nintendo, "all" Virtual Console and WiiWare games will transfer over to the Wii U. Additionally, Nintendo wanted to remind us that there's no GameCube backwards compatibility available on the Wii U (probably so they can sell you digital GameCube games).

This is not only big news because Nintendo has finally officially confirmed this process, but the fact that everything will transfer is huge. Hell, Sony still hasn't allowed the transfer of 100% of the PSP digital library to the Vita.

Sadly, we don't have exact details as to how or when this process will happen.

Ah. guess ill keep the Wii then. If I trade it towards the Wii U at gamestop I get 50 bucks but then i'd have to turn around and buy a Gamecube for 30 so not even worth it.

What's going to be biggest shame (in terms of backwards compatibility) is that means no support for the original Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles on the Wii U, VC or otherwise.

I'm out of the loop here, what does this mean? Will I not be able to preorder a Wii U on Amazon due to some political stuff going on?

It seems to only be a problem in the US but this started it..
