Welp. None of the gamestops, walmarts, or targets within my area had the Shulk amiibo. Fuck Nintendo. Argue this "controlled demand" bullshit all you want, it's a fucking dumb business practice that's helped to put Nintendo in the outskirts they deserve to be in.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. When Chronicles X comes out, I'm not buying a console, I'm buying an expensive game.

I refuse to play the Amiibo hunting game. I'm pissed that I'll never have some of the characters that I want but I patently refuse to pay the resellers for them. To this day I only own two. lol

We've gotten relatively lucky. I'm more pissed at gamestop due to how they fucked up preorders for this last wave. Was supposed to be online or instore, so was going to do it online during my lunch break. Their system crashed, they changed it to in store only and were all gone by the time I would have been off work. I could have possibly snagged the 3 I missed that I wanted and could have easily came into work early to pick up the other two. Instead I wound up only with Jigglypuff as the only exclusive.

Shulk was a gamestop exclusive and has been sold out since February. A 2nd wave just got shipped but orders for those were back in February as well.

Pretty stupid question, but why are Amiibos so fucking popular? Is it the ability to collect the figurines you want of your favorite nintendo chars? Just curious.

I guess so. Most/all of the features that come with them don't enhance your gameplay in any way, only adding silly DLC that it feels like you'd typically pay 99c for or something.

I feel like it's their way of pushing shitty DLC in a physical form for a higher price. It also allows them to do what they're doing, and force rarity. I hope the trend dies out or they set up a store that they can be ordered from directly where they're plentiful. I am not playing the "fight the resellers" game.

I'll keep an eye out for Samus since I think I see her every so often around here. In case I find one, do you only want one where the box is perfect, or is it okay if the box has defects (ex. bend)?
