The motivation behind the characters actions on this show is just mind-boggling. I was hoping it would get better this season but the whole Dad situation was a huge WTF for me... it just doesn't make any logical sense no matter how hard they try to justify it.

I liked this episode, but as others said, his dad's reasoning for leaving could have been much better.

Also, with Eobard Thawne no longer existing.....how did like any of last season even happen? Or is this just something I ignore and just blame it on Speed Force? >.>

This was pretty much my thought too. Just gonna chalk it up to "time-travel plot lines are generally terrible" and ignore it

"Because Speed Force" is an oft used general excuse in the comics, no reason it can't extend to the show.

I'd like to be "This is the Nexus point of time and universes. After Well's built the reactor early, it locked this time and place. Whatever happens in the future/past can not change anything from here on out". That way, they could do pretty much any time travel story and keep this universe unaffected.

His dad up and bouncing seemed a bit normal to me. It was portrayed in a forced way but I understand it.

You've been locked away from the world for 12 years. Your son's intentions were good but he's got a "father" and support system already so no need for him to be around and slow his decision making. Beat time to leave and see the world would be right now. As they say, "ripping the bandaid off early."

I'm OK with most fiction and TV's "bad" time travel rules as long as they're consistent. As long as changing something only changes "the future" from the moment of the change, I can live with paradoxes all day long.

My favorite parts were when they said how bad security instar labs was and how people could just walk right in. And the second time they say it, someone walks right in XD

You mean like the way Heroes did it?

The problem with Heroes wasn't the time travel per se ... it was the fact that the show had uber powerful characters that couldn't be contained within a cohesive plot. That includes not only Hiro's power of time travel, but the sheer power of both Peter and Sylar which required multiple power nerfs as the show tried to contain their lack of foresight.
