Barry sees the 'echo' anytime he is going to time travel in this show. He did it with the arrow crossover, so if Echo Barry is a thing, there'd have to be 2 echos now.

jay definitely has a bigger role in it based on the masked prisoner tapping his name and being all mysterious with shit (why did nobody care to further inquire about the 3rd man in zoom's dungeon at the end of the ep anyway?)

Or maybe Zoom was able to split Jay into 2 individuals, one with the speed force and one without and the masked man is Jay with the speed force.

Maybe he wasn't Jay after all. Maybe he is actually Hunter Zolomon of E2. And the guy in the mask, Zoom is holding, is Jay Garrick of E1. Zoom brought back Jay of E1 for the same reason Pseudo-Garrick went to E1 to find his counterpart. That would mean Zoom is actually Jay Garrick of E2. Originally Posted by BadKarma

This kinda makes sense, especially how the guy in the mask reacted when they were like oh Jay is alive on E1. His reaction was more like no you idiots I'm the real Jay Garrick, and zoom is too. As far as we can see every counterpart had the same exact name. So that scene where he (Jay) was saying his E1 counterpart was Hunter is an outright lie and the truth at the same time.
