What really bothered me was the fact that the guy in the helmet, while they were communicating via knocks, didn't tap out something like "no. I am Jay.." Instead of seeming to give up in frustration.

I will say that the big reveal is gonna be good, every theory I can come up with doesn't satisfy all of the conditions based on what we know, and what is heavily implied.

Earth 3 is kind of a interesting possibility. I guess there's something Jay and Zoom have in common because they both are obsessed with speed. Jay admitted he was injecting himself with velocity because he was trying to gain more speed and than that backfired. What if Zoom is alternate Jay who's cells are also deteriorating and he is collecting more speed to keep himself alive.

Hunter Zolomon is Zoom, right....? Not sure from what world on the show, but they're probably going off of that somehow. Like how Caitlyn snow was evil in E2. TBH I don't really know if there is a relation in the comics to Hunter Zolomon/Jay Garrick. Probably not cuz Jay was the original flash from way back when? Could be totally wrong, Flash wasn't something I followed.

i think that's probably what will happen, maybe not exactly that way but jay's lust for speed probably drug wells into unwittingly doing something to accidentally create zoom

Well, isn't it possible that when Jay got struck by lightning he was split in two? His "good" side is Jay Garrick, and his "evil" side is Zoom? Could explain why the two are so similar in their way of thinking - being that both are obsessed with becoming faster.
