Spoiler: show
The amount of times people have just strolled into both hideouts is just @_@
I'm posting this from the arrow cave.
Just watched this weeks episode last night. I've never seen writers write themselves into a corner as much as this show just did. It's very apparent they had a great idea with Jay being zoom but never thought about how to execute it in the end so we are left with some stupid time remnant shit.
They also made Barry OP too early and again, write themselves into a corner so they had to de power him completely in the most retarded way possible
i stuck through for all of smallville, I'm not quitting arrow any time soon
I just hope they will end Arrow with season 5 since that would fit the flashback timeline of a year per season.
The thing with this is how do you limit Barry/The Flash in general? Every episode will be just Smallville-esque in terms of him being weighed down either emotionally, or some weakness, or he loses his powers, etc. It's impossible to keep him as is for an episode by episode basis for multiple seasons.
Sadly we have to deal with CW Melodrama to keep getting awesome moments. That is what they learned from Smallville, cause let's be real; had Tom Welling been Superman for more than...half a finale, the show would have been *so* much better.
Instead we got Angsty Clark and Lana for way too long.
I think it's possible. They would just need to remain consistent with his power ups. Afaik barry's flash started by being able to run like 120 mph? And for the first villian he powered up to be able to outrun the winds of a tornado? Like 240 mph?
And they made a huge show of the numbers by doing races on that airfield and monitoring barry's speed while running through the tornado, right?
...all while in the same episode barry was able to see a lightning bolt come through the sun roof of a vehicle, grab his black father, pick him up, and escape the vehicle before the lightning bolt blew the car up. But he struggled to get that 240 mph shit later on
It's their own fault barry's powers look retarded often times. They fuck it up themselves by writing him into situations he should have no chance of succeeding (outrunning the lightning bolt when they established barry's top speed is <240mph) or writing him into situations where it would be child's play to win (most of the villains tbh)
So to say it's impossible is to say writers can't come up with situations that offer the right amount of difficulty for a guy who can move at X speed. And consistently raise that X speed and keep coming up with problems for him to solve that aren't too hard/too easy. Which, I think is possible. But I doubt these guys would ever stop and even google search how fast lightning is, nevermind doing google search bar math to heavily estimate barry's speed. But because lightning moves at 320,000,000 ft/s and dis nigga barry went like 10 feet in the time it took lightning to move 2 (being very conservative with barry's distance and very liberal with the lightning's)... he went 1,600,000,000 ft/s or 1.6x the speed of light
So I'd chalk it up to drama writers being in charge of writing a superhero show instead of it being impossible. But afaik that's what sells so it's the best we can get
The speed boost thingy should of been his way of defeating Zoom. Instead they used it too early in the season. Not hard to make a device only work for a fight and then it breaks and becomes irreparable. Happens allll the time in comics/shows
I'd hope they're tricking him with Velocity 9 and just make Zoom dissappear like that other chick
A bit late to the party, but I assumed Zoom went to his lair's location in Earth 1 and not Earth 2. If you look at the cave's entrance it's vastly different from the way it looks on Earth 2. In Earth 2 it's just a rock wall and a cave entrance up top Remember how Caitlyn had to help them climb it? This looked more like it had a bridge and lights around it. So unless Zoom wanted to make his secret lair more handicapped accessible, it's not the same earth.
Edit: Or did his cave on Earth 2 have a bridge leading to it? I tried to google it, and it seem to look the same. Why didn't they take the bridge then instead of climbing the rock wall?
Why would his lair on Earth 1 have the same masked man that it had on Earth 2?
They were in his lair's equivalent in Earth 1 to open the portal, which is how Zoom saw the rift open, wasn't it?
I had forgotten about that. I just assumed Zoom had gotten some kind of way to sense the rifts. At the time of the episode I expected them to explain it later, silly me. Yet another thing you're just supposed to accept right up there with stuff like, now that Wells is dead, who the fuck is paying to keep the lights on at Star Labs or keep Cisco and Caitlyn employed?
No, he ran to where the portal opened in Earth 2. You could see him react and then run to the same building as in Earth 1. Which confuses me slightly, since they made a point of the portals (other than the "central largest one" in STAR Labs) being in a completely different location than Earth 1 in the beginning of the season.
As for the masked man, I noticed that too in the episode. Maybe it's the Earth 1 equivalent of the masked man or something? Not sure, him being in earth 1 is the best explanation I can come up with. Unless the portal Cisco opened is opened permanently now or something.
the portal just stays open I guess, prob need to make a bomb thing to reclose it.
heck even the fact that u can drain speed and store it in a little vial is lol.
im guessing at some point wally will get his speed from that?
