6/13/12 Update - .DAT Mining Discussion

Based on the dialog someone posted a few pages back, it *sounds like* (totally unconfirmed, of course), you need to trade the original piece, plus the corresponding Arch-Omega/Ultima component to receive the new upgraded piece of that armor, or just the new Arch-Omega/Ultima component to receive the corresponding piece from the totally new set.

Edit: Here it is (from Kanachan's post), with some notes from me (same idea for Ultima stuff with slightly different flavor text). The whole thing is pretty sketchy from the text alone, so I doubt we'll figure this out until someone actually obtains a piece (which, of course, won't be for at least three days).


First pattern, sounds like after trading an Arch-Omega part (not upgrading old set):

Second pattern, this part confuses me. I'm not sure whether the first item refers to body parts or something else, and I can't tell if it directly follows the text above or is some unrelated conversation:

So what is there for mnk this update? I went through a few of the item lists and didn't find mnk on a single set or piece of gear, excluding the "all jobs" pieces.

Finally an upgrade to OAT. Means more WS damage on DRG(although my Stardivers are pretty decent with a 110 base DMG lance, having a 141 base damage lance would icnrease it by a ton)

Assuming the new Odin is still 2880 Ichor, you need to do approximately two T3s for every three Odins to come out even on Ichor. I'm sure people have Ichor saved up, but without doing separate farming runs you'd be depleting 3120 per Odin, so it would run dry pretty quickly.

So basically, we still have reason to bring mules to the event then for ichor farmin'. ;/

Just like people have run out of Voidstones and buy them. Some people out there will make Ichor farming their gil farming niche just like Void Dust is currently. It's not worth many peoples time to farm the AN or CP for Void Dust and likewise the same will be true for farming Ichor for something that can be bought with gil which is much more easily produced.

Except anyone can farm AN or CP on their own time alone which they can turn in to voiddust and sell on AH. The same does not hold true for Ichor: you cant log in, go "hey I got an hour before work/event/date/whatever, I'll go farm some Ichor alone". Not to mention the Lamp still costs 180k to enter.

Sorry, I forgot the lamp price dropped, I havent done einherjar in ages. I did know about the 6 person minimum, which is why I said the basis of farming ichor with an hour of free time is impossible.

well I doubt people will farm ichor. the whole point of those items exchanging to KIs is to make the life easier for shells, so a person can still attend odin, when he/she missed a run. At least thats my opinion

i doubt taht will happen, with this introduction i expect to see more p.tatters and p. abjurations floating around. Some of those pieces are HQd with augments still nice and I think people would rather use the points for a HQ then to sell them. Thats my opinion imho.

No, my plan is to spam Odin with the 400k ampoules that I have on my character and the 200k on my mule. Honestly, why wouldn't people want to skip Ichor farming in 75 content to jump right to the level 99 fight? I don't want to waste time with Ichor farming when other methods will undoubtedly be better time spent. The fact that there is a 3 day layover between Einherjar runs creates an instant demand to spend your run doing something that can't be replaced by farming on your own time. If there is a demand to jump to the 99 fight, there will be a supply of feather items, period. The price and availability will adjust to the demand, like everything else in the world.

7-8% less WS frequency
10% higher white damage
15% higher ws damage

10-11% less TP from jumps
15% higher jump damage

Too bad SE didn't present an option for those who already had the Odin Items to allow them to do a trial requiring players defeating the higher Tier Odin X amount of times while also allowing the new items to drop as well.

You cant solo farm Ichor. Most people who farm AN/CP are solo. I'm VERY suspect to the idea that there is an actual group of 6 characters (key word: characters, not people) who group farm AN / CP. Not to mention, in order to farm that Ichor, its still going to cost gil to enter.
