at the time it had nothing to do with the topic, it was domestic abuse. It became relevant when male athletes got certain treatment in response to their domestic abuse, and a female athlete is getting preferential treatment, and the topic is...dun dun, feminism and equality!!

And guess what, a desire for equality takes the good AND bad. You cant cherry pick the good and ignore the bad.

And you can't pretend to care about equality when instead of opening an honest dialogue about how expectations on their gender role has created a huge vacuum of silence for male rape victims in prisons, put them at a disadvantage when they are the targets of domestic abuse etc. when your only stated goal is to pick a fight with 'where are the feminists huh?' This is why the men's rights movement doesn't ever get taken seriously. They only want to talk about feminists and why feminism is bad, not why the conservative societal values around everybody cause the inequalities that should be addressed.

Its because no one cares about womens soccer thats why the womens soccer league or w/e didn't feel the need to do anything, but people do care about the NFL and thus the NFL cares more about its image.
