is now "if she's saying no, it might mean yes"

not that i'm likely to ever be in that situation, but that's not something i'm going to risk. no means no, fuck those bullshit games.
Fuck archi, you have me rolling right now.
Yes, that is reality though. But now that we're openly admitting it, fuck bitches make money. These women don't cry rape when you got chedder in the bank to buy them shiney bags with a logo on the side.
Edit: or we just all wear lapel cams when going out lmao
New Pew research poll came out:

God damn you people are dense. He means with some girls (I personally think very rare), not with all girls sometimes.
I've definitely lost out on some hook-ups due to not pushing past token resistance (happens a lot more with asians in my experience, famiry honor and etc maybe?).
Better to jack it than be in jail though, fuck.
Interesting poll. The summary of the report is worth the read, and probably the whole thing if you have time.
There's more, including that women are more likely to receive harassment through social media while men are more likely to receive harassment through online gaming.Overall, men are somewhat more likely than women to experience at least one of the elements of online harassment, 44% vs. 37%. In terms of specific experiences, men are more likely than women to encounter name-calling, embarrassment, and physical threats. Beyond those demographic groups, those whose lives are especially entwined with the internet report experiencing higher rates of harassment online. This includes those who have more information available about them online, those who promote themselves online for their job, and those who work in the digital technology industry.
I think most people recognize that there are various segments of gaming communities that have more of an underrepresentation / image problem with women (FGC and perhaps RTS), and some are notorious for just being terrible communities in general (looking at you LoL and FPS).
I'm sure he didn't notice there was a second page? I sure didn't. But it's not like this is a strong counter-argument.
For one, though this is ultimately minor and more for curiousity and slight disbelief of the point, I'd like to see an elaboration of how two people can meet an 'affirmative-consent standard' without any verbal consent being reached - and one that doesn't sound ridiculous (ie: "wellll.... they could use sign language! or communicate via mail"). Particularly as it could apply to the situation he described.
Whether or not some women may be turned on by asking (lol? "man, this guy asked to have sex before sex, I'M SO MUCH MORE TURNED ON!") is also irrelevant to the fact that the 'token resistance' thing does happen and it is a real issue/concern. Some people are turned on by shitting on their chest too, doesn't mean anything towards addressing the issue raised in that specific e-mail.
Second, what kind of a huge strawman is 'reducing rape and assault is more important than you getting laid more often'... this wasn't the point of the guy's letter. He wasn't writing about how much he regretted his missed opportunities for sex because of asking. It was about the negative and conflicting experiences, and how it made him feel ashamed of/confused in his own sexual desires and what he thought of the issue.
It's a pretty terrible counter-argument to see that and come back with 'well boo-hoo you missed some chances for sex, preventing rape everywhere is more important than you.' As if simply making consent more clear and obvious stops a real rapist/criminal in the first place...
relevant
Basically the guy started from the position of needing explicit verbal consent for everything, and gradually learned how to read non-verbal cues successfully.
Sounds like a success story to me. (and I know that feel bro)
Except, because of the token resistance and lack of verbal anything, it's techinically rape. According to you, and many many MANY people.
Fucked if you do, not fucked if you don't. FML.
Which is why me and chari were pissing ourselves laughing over the blatant hypocrisy.
Interesting article:
http://www.npr.org/blogs/money/2014/..._medium=social
long answer: lots of bullshit
short answer: they didn't, men just swamped the field.
Oh man if only there was a way for uhpresshioned women to get better at programming and learning how to computer good.
