99% of school shootings are performed by men.
It might be a factor.
You're wrong.shes not attempting to address a larger issue in society shes blaming men FOR the issue as if all men are the sole cause.

I've not once said don't look at access to firearms or mental issues, jesus christ. the point is to do AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE to prevent things like this. I can't do anything about mental health in the US, or firearm access, but I CAN talk about some of the societal pressures and issues that may be contributing, and raise awareness of a problem, even if you think it's of less importance, it's a problem that we CAN do something about. That's the whole fucking point.
in the tweet she blames "patriarchy" which by DEFINITION is "a system of society or government in which the father or eldest male is head of the family and descent is traced through the male line." please explain how that this tweet is not directly blaming men or insinuating that it patriarchy is the cause?

you know what drives alot of dudes crazy... women .. i could easily post click bait claiming the #1 issue that needs to be looked at is females objectification of men and its influence on society and make it blatant click bait to whip up views / clicks / reactions... THIS IS WHAT SHE DOES
or... or she could call out the NRA use her white knight army for something constructive and push for real gun change in america while still supporting feminism... you want death threats go after gun owners not COD fan boy 420xxxnoscope360sniperkill
Shes not using this high horse to effect any change just taking the credit.
The way I see it, mental health reform/solving the problem of firearm access is something I don't have a huge input over, just getting people talking doesn't make the government change it's mind, especially given the state of lobbying today. talking about my own experiences/opinions on how harmful some of these ideas can be, especially relating to the concept of 'masculinity', even if it only helps a couple people realize there's room for change is, to me, more significant than just a bunch of people going "yep all these guns are a problem". The solution to a cultural problem lies within the culture itself, and a discussion/raising of awareness within said culture is more effective at leading to change and improvement than in a situation where the solution lies in government decisions. Maybe I'm just naive to think I can make a difference, but I know that no amount of posting will ever change gun laws/mental health legislation, but my posts might, maybe, help other people become more aware of the impact certain attitudes and behaviors can have on others, and when most of the problems in the world seem out of my control I want to at least try to help with one I can. Maybe I'm just an idiot.
I agree with your position on how you affect gun legislation, but you're absolutely wrong in thinking discussion on the stigma of mental health doesn't affect any one or any thing. I'd argue you make more of a difference talking about mental health than you do about masculinity.
I double dog dare you to post that in the Ferguson thread.
So we're back on the blaming Seth Rogan and jonah Hill train again?
Why don't ugly fat fucks just accept the fact they are going to die sad and alone.
I already posted that black culture is a huge factor but it's far from the only factor and doesn't negate the original issue of unfair verdicts death rates, and poverty. Black culture is doing little to nothing to better itself and the nation's as a whole is doing little to better the perception of black people and their "culture". People like Tyler Perry are apart of the issue and I'm honestly surprised feminist don't Fucking hate him.
I love this thread.
The white knight armor is shining very brightly in here, its almost as if they're blinded by their own white knight radiance.
Terrible way to word it, but yes, that's correct. It's not an inherent difference between white and black people that cause black people to shoot people more often, it's cultural. But it's the same as was being talked about in regards to men: black people are the victims of the this culture, and not the problem.
Yes, that would be a good thing.
How would all men becoming emo fucking hipsters be a good thing?!?
You're the one who suggested it, I just put it into better words.
