Why do you avoid questions while getting testy when people do the same to you?
Why do you avoid questions while getting testy when people do the same to you?
I did answer the question, he's ignoring it because its not the answer he wants. Thats not my problem. Last I heard, he's a man, he will get the answer I give, not the one that will make him happy.
yup, went there.
You did not.
Nature or nurture?
Sometimes I think everyone is so wound up with trying to be right they take everything to the extreme.
It's ok to admit that not dating brits because they don't ask you out fast enough doesn't really coincide with claiming men need to stop being aggressors.
Equally, it's ok to admit she's like fucking 24 and could easily change her mind in two years.
It doesn't make you a misogynist asshole to admit the first.
It doesn't make you a raving femnazi to admit the second.
It's ok for there to be gray areas where you can understand where the other side is coming from once in awhile.
With that said, no I don't think women asking out guys is going to be statistically close at all to guys asking out women.
I can imagine it's rising, but not even close to being there.
I really couldn't give a fuck as long as someone in the interested couple makes a move.
Avoiding the question.
Chips or apple?
Coke or Orange Juice?
Water or Vodka?
Yeaaaah, this ain't going anywhere. You aren't worth the time.
Ask a question with context?
Took too long...
Stop editing your posts constantly. It makes it hard to have a discussion when your posts change consistently.
Do you believe that women, by their nature, are less inclined to ask a man out and be the initiator in a potential relationship?
Or
Do you believe that there are behaviors that are encouraged by pop culture/upbringing that can influence this?
Context: relating to women asking men out.
Edit: It's clear enough that you struggle with the English language or that you are content to fart anything onto a keyboard. Either way, that's okay!
why do people keep responding to nynja lol
For lacking in reading comprehension:
If you believe that, by nature, women are inclined to wait for a man to make the first move, there is really no discussion to be had relating to how cultural influences can effect someone's expectations, realistic or otherwise.
Nature is not easily changed. Nurture is something that can be changed through awareness of ones actions and how you effect those around you.

I'm unable to comment on what is or is not the nature of a woman, I have no clue what goes on in their heads in this regard. What I am certain of is that its expected for the man to be the initiator, despite some "anecdotal evidences" given in here. Anyones upbringing can influence anything. Anita wasnt born a feminist, her upbringing or events in her life made her one (in a quick search, I was unable to determine if she has any siblings, assuming she's an only child). Mental deficiencies can influence a persons outlook or decision making (ie: ten male teenagers with a similar upbringing get dumped, 9 realize theres other fish in the sea, the 10th resorts to shooting up a school, the reasons for the differences can be anything).
Expecting to change something like this through upbringing and behavior will be tough, and at this point probably is considered nature. You would have to ask a historian on their take on this, but I remember Shakespearean plays where it was always the man courting to the woman, and I dont think that was just for entertainment.
How does keeping women submissive and in fear of sexual shaming benefit men and/or the patriarchy?
Maybe I'm just a closeted feminist but I don't see how this is a problem stemming from the Patriarchy. Aren't most slut shaming's from other females?
Edit: shaming not shaving
since i was a teenager i have consistently been asked out by women, had friends asked out by women and known plenty of women that have asked men out first. none of that matters anymore tho cuz we got tinder. well you have tinder. i don't have tinder cuz i got married like an idiot. to a woman that asked me out...
god i wish tinder had come around just a few years earlier
Shaming from other women is, at least in part, an effect of those women being raised in a society where women having casual sex is 'bad'. That being said, it is still very much a behavior that women need to move past. There seems to be a common misconception in this thread that saying patriarchy/toxic masculinity cause problems means that "only men are to blame" but that's not true, as I think Hey said, they affect both men and women, in different ways, and women need to do their part to overcome it as well. I don't get the argument that "oh well women don't ask out men enough so you're wrong" the whole point is that that's part of what needs to change, so of course it's not at the level it should be at, what are you trying to get at? You're literally citing the problem and then saying we're making up the issue? Both sides have their own things to work on, for example, men can work on not being super aggressive/acting like they're owed sex simply for being 'alpha', and women can work on asserting themselves and recognizing that taking initiative to ask a man out and having casual sex does not make them 'bad women'. There is room for improvement for all involved, and only through effort on both sides will progress truly be made. There will of course always be people like Nynja going "oh if they want change then the women need to do it abloo bloo bloo" and extreme feminists who do think that it's "all men's fault" but as is frequently the case, the best solution lies not in an extreme, but in a compromise between the two, and in people focusing first on themself, and then those around them, not waiting for 'the other side' to change.
Yeah getting asked out by women shouldn't be a rare thing. Not saying you're gonna get asked out by chicks who you wish would ask you out, but hey, I'm sure it's the same for girls.
I've been asked out by as many women as I've asked out.
(lol)
So, yes? We're going to pretend this is the norm?
I see.
