In the same line as the video: I think a lot of women in games and gaming related websites probably also hide the fact that they're female or pretend to be guys specifically to avoid the online version of that kind of scenario.

I could guarantee that same situation, same tone of voice, would have completely different reactions to cat-calling. A blonde adonis vs. a 400lb neckbeard. One would leave the woman feeling flattered, and the other she would feel was an inappropriate creep.

Easy to follow guidelines:

The south: It is okay to talk to people you don't know. Say hi to them, talk in elevator, okay whatever. (It's weird for me, getting used to it).

Sure some men suck at it, like poor (financially) minorities in that video, but would she call it cat calling if men in suits with a nice haircut and jewelry on kept coming up to her asking for her number so they could take her to a coffee shop sometime? The people seem to agree with the way I look at it even on this show from NYC. Kinda funny.
Most of that shit was just dudes tryin' to holla and not harassment. If dudes persist, that's a different story. If dudes try to follow you around, that's a different story.
Basically, seems like your average joe would not call most of that harassment (though they would to some of it like the examples I mentioned above) and that's how I see it too.

I'm pretty sure that's the common outlook on the whole deal and if someone feels like a purse clutcher that's on them. I do agree that it can be intimidating to be hit on by a pack of dudes or something as well. Its not even just a pack of dudes either, ever had a few cougars hit on you? Shit's cray. In the moment its awkward as all hell. I still wouldn't call it harassment, just fucking weird. I still think some people in this thread need to realize that something being a thing you don't like or something disrespectful doesn't necessarily make it harassment.

Since when does empathy require distorting facts? I mean, sure, it probably sucks and some women don't like it and its unfortunate that they must deal with these things when they don't want to. Doesn't make it harassment though.
