In fact it's things like the last 6-9 pages that made me wish I lived in the middle of no where with a decent wife raising farm animals; it's so depressing after digesting it all.

Just read about this stupid dongle shit and what I wanna know why did Adria not exercise her right to not listen into other people's conversation?

Furthermore why did she feel it was ok to invade the privacy of Riker and his buddy? Even though it's a public setting if they were talking amongst themselves then they are afford privacy. Just like when you're out with friends at a restaurant talking and eating. You're afford a level of privacy if you're keeping to yourself.

I'm slightly late to the party on this one, but to recap, she:
- "Got offended" at a joke directed at no one in particular but refering to male genitalia. Seriously? I don't even get how it could be construed as sexist. Men can't make dick jokes? Can they make (sandy) vag jokes? Can women make either? Or can no one make any joke refering to genitalia? HOW THE FUCK DOES ANY OF IT MAKE SENSE? It isn't sexist at all. As you stated, it was a joke regarding male genitalia, and had nothing to do with women (nor their genitalia). It's a case of a chick getting her panties into a bunch for no good reason, and embarrassing every other woman that wants to be taken seriously in the industry.

If she wanted to file a legitimate complaint, she could have noted that the remark was unprofessional and immature in nature. That is a legitimate problem in the tech industry—namely, it doesn't succeed at presenting itself in a dignified light—and this is usually unrelated to gender issues. This isn't to say that gender issues do not exist, but this isn't an example of that—at all. It's a case of making a shitty, tired joke that makes you sound like you're a nine year old who just discovered the word "fucking" and thought "hey, that's like 'forking!'".

Stereotypes exist because of those who make examples of themselves; accordingly, a lot of tech-minded people aren't social butterflies (despite what pretend-nerd hipsters may lead you to believe). I would suppose that's why they would expect such an awful joke to be entertaining. Unfortunately, instead of framing the problem in a proper manner, she clothed it as a sexism case, which it absolutely is not.

Eh. She has some good points about what Anita said, but her argument seems more about tone than anything else. She rightly points out that Anita disregards spin off series where female characters aren't damsels in distress without sufficient justification, and she also rightly points out that Anita seems to come from a perspective that relying on others is a necessarily negative trait.

The most i can say about this video is that she makes an excellent messenger for guys that are already somewhat hostile towards feminism because she sounds feminine and seems to be reaffirming the value of traditional feminine roles. It was also a nice move to avoid showing herself in the video as that distracts male audiences less with thoughts on how pretty or ugly she is. All in all, her point of view is an important counter balance, but she really didn't offer any more intellectual weight to this than Anita did. She was just less abrasive.

Theres this girl in one of my classes and on Friday we were DEBATING interracial adoption and I was saying white parents cant raise an african american child because they wouldnt understand the lack of privilege of their child and it would cause confusion. This girl got all offended and said she was adopted by white parents and that they saved her life. So I told her HEY they didnt adopt you to save you they adopted you to feel better about THEMSELEVES. She got so angry it was just ridiculous. My professor ended the debate but I just dont udnerstand why there cant be civil debates anymore.

Pretty obvious troll.
