When you take two minutes out of 10 hours it could easily be in the rich areas, the ghetto areas, or a mix of both. I think it is silly to assume ANY of the three unless the person DOES know the streets she's actually on.

As the richest of the 5 boroughs it is also home to what is ranked the #1 least safe neighborhood being midtown which is essentially dead center of Manhattan.

This whole thing is fucking retarded if you live in a large cosmopolitan city and are a woman you will most likely get catcalled, and you will be getting catcalled by people who have never heard the word patriarchy or privilege. If you want to feel comfortable and have strangers smile at you and say good morning in earnest go move anywhere that isn't a huge hub, LA/SF/NY/FL/ATL/Houston. The only thing this does is inflame feminists and inflame people who would never do this in the first place while people who catcall couldn't give 2 shits what is said in a feminist circle jerk online in regards to their activities and likely won't give a fuck until talking to women starts getting them thrown in jail which would end up being construed as yet another systemic oppression of the underprivileged who didn't know any better.

I wasn't going to go there to begin with, but if you want to bring up clothes, you don't have to show skin to be dressed provocatively. Her clothes were so tight they may as well have been a spandex bodysuit. Fat people don't show off like that, and yes, wearing clothes that hug your body that tight is most definitely showing it off. There's nothing wrong with that, but it will attract attention. If you're proud of your body and want to show it off, be my guest, but don't act all offended or surprised when people ogle you.

I actually agree completely. And I think how rich or poor an area is is actually pretty irrelevant. A guy that makes 200k a year doing that is just as shitty as a guy who is homeless with thousands of dollars in debt. I was not the one that brought that part into the debate.

My only real argument to this debate is just saying "hi" isn't harassment though people like hey think it is. I don't approve of the catcalling.

I see and recognize how some of that video coule be seen as a real problem, I simply am not daft enough to ignore that there is literally nothing that will stop it. Even if we outlawed greeting women you don't know in public for some stupid reason, these people will still exist, they'll just find new avenues to pursue their aggressive dating style. Its an "alpha wolf" mind set and such, the strongest and often the most aggressive male getting the most mates so to speak, this aggressive behavior is more oft than not rewarded. Until that behavior is no longer rewarded, it will be adopted by some men. So the solution to this problems lies on the shoulder of both men and women alike, so as long as feminist place the blame entirely on men and misogyny, the problem will never be solved.

You have women who go out, dress sexy, and want the attention. You have women who respond to this behavior and reward it, you have women who pretend not to like the attention but do. There are many types of women in this world just as there are many types of men in this world. Painting everything and everyone with such a wide encompassing brush is why (some!) feminists always paint a blurry picture in the end.
