Of course I can understand that. Unlike you, I do understand that not everyone sees things as I do nor chooses to live in the same way I do.
I understand that certain groups of people don't cut for that shit and why they wouldn't but I also know that not everyone feels this way. Dudes keep doing what they do because it works in certain areas and that's what ya'll will just never understand.

I dunno if you watched that video of the dark man talkin about spreading that American Eagle but he echoed a lot of the shit I was saying. Shit actually works out there on them streets and you 'do' have to be loud and assertive to get some of these women to give you the time of day. Its just another subculture. I no longer expect you to ever be capable understanding but it is what it is.

I've said this before that I'm definitely a closeted feminist, mostly because I don't see how much of an impact these social experiments can do to change anything.

My girlfriend has come home in tears from getting catcalled excessively along with the numerous advances she receives at work bar tending. Not simple chatting up your bar tender, but her bar is right next door to hotel and typically older white men ask her if she wants to go up to their room.

I'm going to switch sides on the cat calling, but I still think Anita is an idiot and ought to be ignored.

I know cat calling isn't pleasant and is rather uncouth but I don't see how these videos affect any sort of change. I think the way to affect change isn't to ignore like she did, but to address it and tell said person that's not how you should talk to fellow human beings. I'm speaking about the vulgar things people say or the "hey beautiful"s that get thrown around, not the god bless and good day.

It ranged from hey beautiful to outright asking to go fuck in the hotel room. I had no real answer to either of those but I understand how it can distress someone if its constant.

Like when I go walk to lunch today if I say "god bless you" to a random dude I am passing, thats gonna be as normal as, hows it going or have a good one?

haha okay, i understand that it might happen occasionally, especially from homeless peoeple. but ITT keep throwing it around like "its all good when its a hello or a god bless you". It's just sort of jarring to me since I say hello to every single person i pass in my apartment building but no one ever says god bless you. I guess if it were me i would just compare it to something as frequent like a "how are you" or a "have a good night". that makes sense right?

Oh, don't think much of me referring back to that one so often. I don't think its a super common thing, I just think its the funniest "example" of harassment in the video so its stuck at the front of my mind.
