Pretty sure Archie didn't either

Blaming the Animaniacs for all of this.

It absolutely is not worth going in circles arguing about who did or did not start a topic we're actively trying to drop.
Stop being fuckholes.
Ok so how about those people who made death threats to themselves? Any updates on that front?
You might want to redirect your anger toward the person who even asked the question. If responding to a question and answering subsequent responses makes me a fuckhole, I hope you're hard and ready.
And no, I'm not going to drop a topic just because you want me to. That's not how things work, you don't get to bring something up and then drop it whenever you feel like because you don't like the response.
I don't like or not like it. We just have the stupid hammer or moderation dangling above our heads for circularfuck arguments and it'd be just swell if people could realize it's not a convo worth having, champ.
Either that or continue and then we wont have a choice about having it or not.
Whatever.
i thought qal's examples were walking up to someone and touching their hair or commenting on looks. idk how that's "hi = harassment" but whatever bros.
oh neat i just went back and read them and he also used the words creepy and uncomfortable and didnt say shit about hi or harassment.
It's quite obvious it all boils down to "who gets the last word". Qal is arguing over something every one has already agreed upon, that touching people is quite creepy and is harassment. Then we got people (kuya) asking other questions, which get answered. Like Chari said, if people are over this, then stop asking questions about it.
And make maz and hey stop believing that hi = harassment.
I said common courtesy is recognizing that some people find it uncomfortable to be approached and talked to by a random individual and that you're being fucking selfish for saying they just have to deal with it instead of at the very least CONSIDERING another possibility, that maybe the right of another person to feel comfortable is important too.
you can bother someone/make someone uncomfortable without it being a persistent behavior or harassment, so maybe, just maybe, take half a second to think about the fact that the person might not want to deal with your massive sense of self-importance and just go about their business in peace.
so no, "hi" is not harassment. however, approaching and talking to a total stranger is something that some people find unnerving, frightening, or just awkward. don't be so quick to dismiss their valid reactions just because you feel like you have the right to start talking to them. shit's situational at best, and if you aren't in a situation with someone who looks interested in socializing then maybe the respectful thing to do is not make them have to deal with your shit.
if you initiate a conversation, even with something as harmless as hello, and they make it clear they don't want to talk, then that's it. If you keep trying to converse you are harassing them at that point.
Oh, is it lacking detail? What is detail? Am I trolling? Do you mean trolling like fishing or the thing that hides under bridges?
Spoiler: show
I'm saying your priorities make me lose my ability to can. On one hand feminism calls everything a microaggression or abuse (if not full rape) and says that it should be up to accused rapists to prove a negative in court (if they're afforded due process at all), and on the other hand a feminist is fighting the accusation that there is literally a single thing wrong with playing with a toddler's genitals and masturbating next to an 11 year old, while suing people for libel for quoting a passage out of her memoirs.
Applying this logic means no one should ever say hello to anybody, ever, for fear of making them unknowingly uncomfortable. If the trouble truly is that someone might not want to be bothered and we should respect those wishes, it is NEVER a guarantee that someone wants to talk to you. Even if you know them. There's always a chance they might be in a bad mood and not want to talk to anyone.
I believe saying hello to people isn't infringing anything; I say hello to the folks in my office building I don't even work with. It's a habit. Similarly, I respect the rights to someone declining an invitation be it the tried-and-true "nod, smile, and then look away" or going so far as to just put up the "man, fuck off" open palm.
That would make for a pretty awesome martial arts technique.
I'm saying try to assess the situation before immediately going "I have the right to start talking to this person whether they want me to or not." If their body language, or what they're doing, or having headphones on, or whatever says "don't talk to me" then don't fucking try to talk to them, they're probably saying "leave me alone". If they appear open to conversation, then go for it, but if they make it clear, whether physically or verbally that they aren't interested and you persist anyways, you're in the wrong.
That's nice, but what you seem to be doing is dragging individual feminist personalities into this discussion and using their personal moral failings as some sort of evidence for feminism's inherent problems. But since feminism doesn't have a a treatise on masturbating next to your sister, the attempt to link the two topics by the hairs makes little sense and is highly dishonest on your part. That kind of dishonesty is precisely what makes this thread so awful and so toxic to work with.
If you really want to discuss lena, you should make a separate thread for it as it honestly has little to do with the topic itself.
we're gonna be in real trouble when he says "maybe"
gdi kuya, this was @ chari
