As much as I wish it were so, as far as I can tell this isn't satire.
Zuckerberg Explains His Gray T-Shirts, Sounds Pretty Sexist
Steve Jobs had his simple black turtlenecks, Twitter’s Jack Dorsey had his sharp Prada suit, and Mark Zuckerberg has his uniform of nondescript, plain gray T-shirts.
...
“I’m in this really lucky position where I get to wake up every day and help serve more than a billion people. And I’d feel I’m not doing my job if I spent any of my energy on things that are silly or frivolous about my life.”
...
Is it just me or does the mindset of the Silicon Valley Power-Schlub imply that caring about clothing or how you look invalidates your ability to work?

We saw it earlier in the thread. According to dudebros, Brianna Wu is unprofessional because she didn't put on makeup or throw on a suit for a youtube interview, meanwhile Zuckerberg is strutting around in t-shirts at every event.
Women can't win in the workplace. If you don't wear makeup or put on a suit, you're unprofessional. If you do, "you're spending too much time and energy on your looks, you'll never be as successful as me, a man in my t-shirts".
GG
Now, that doesn't make Zuckerberg's comments sexist, it's just him reveling in his male privilege (which I wholly condone).
I'd imagine its two different groups of folks voicing those very distinct opinions... to which I would argue theres about two sides to every coin when it comes to these types of extremes, and its not exclusive to women in the workplace. and I'd also argue there are more than enough men/women who would believe Zuck is unprofessional as well for his attire.
aka dont be dumb.
Huh? There's a difference.. lol
Zuckerberg is at several billion $ net worth, he doesn't have to wear suits to look professional if he doesn't want to. Zuckerberg's accomplished, he's proven his value and work ethic - people will still line up for his time, advice, money, opportunity, etc
Better believe the guys making millions or hundreds of thousands will "doll" up when they're getting into a meeting with Zuckerberg for an investment opportunity or whatever. And if they don't it will reflect poorly on them
The difference between Brianna Wu and Zuckerberg isn't one is a women and one's a man when you're questioning their need to look professional, it's the BILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF WORTH. Like, come on man, get your head out of your ass lol... you're too close to Brianna Wu, the reality is almost nobody knows who she is. So, if she comes off looking like a slob she's going to be met with people who think she's unprofessional. Zuckerberg has proven he's professional before ever getting on the camera, he doesn't need to have "the look"
Didn't Zuckerberg get a lot of shit for wearing a T-Shirt at wall street and some other events where men are expected to be in a suit and tie when Facebook was about to go public?
Mazmaz just hates anything with a penis.
I wouldn't call it a lot of shit but yeah. He endured it and now he can do whatever he wants
If a women created as much value as he did she could do whatever she wants too. Complaining Brianna Wu, a nobody, isn't getting the same treatment as multi billionaire, Mark Zuckerberg, because she's a women is the most toxic version of feminism I've ever seen
Time is running its Worst Words of 2014 poll. Past winners have been OMG, yolo, and twerk. "Feminism" is blowing the competition out, standing at around 45% to 2nd place "bae"'s 13% and 3rd place "om nom nom" at 4%.
The blurb for feminism in the candidates:
"feminist: You have nothing against feminism itself, but when did it become a thing that every celebrity had to state their position on whether this word applies to them, like some politician declaring a party? Let’s stick to the issues and quit throwing this label around like ticker tape at a Susan B. Anthony parade."
when will feminism merge with veganism?
What about the non green vegetables!?
I thought i was joking, but looks like people are actually trying.
http://www.academia.edu/2557709/The_..._for_CommunityIn this paper, I explore and call for a new perspective called inclusionism. What is an inclusionist? An inclusionist recognizes the intersections of multiple perspectives and resists all bigotry and discrimination. Inclusionists are ethical vegans who reject speciesism, ableism, sexism, ageism, racism, heterosexism, and other forms of bigotry and discrimination. Inclusionists work for social justice, the equal rights and equal treatment of all species. Inclusionists reject hierarchies of marginalization and recognize that no human can be free while members of any species are othered, oppressed, or ostracized. The inclusionist perspective is built on the idea that theory for the sake of theory does not work, that theory must be applicable and that all forms of discrimination are connected. Inclusionists recognize that the othering of nonhuman animals is directly connected to the othering of human beings and work to educate and raise awareness regarding the same. I recognize that such a perspective is an "outsider feminism" as it asks human beings to lift the veil regarding the idea that human beings are more valuable than other species. This perspective is both reflective and reflexive in that inclusionism demands that human beings work to reflect on and eliminate cognitive blocks regarding the use and ownership of nonhuman animals and reflect on the connections to the abuse, discrimination, and domination to othered human beings.
was good until "ethical vegans"
Pitching? Idk what point of Zuckerberg's life you're talking about but I don't think there was ever a time where Zuckerberg "pitched" his idea to a bunch of people to do all the work and the only thing in his corner was his "autistic" manhood and naked idea. People gave Zuckerberg the time of day because he CREATED something that can be successful on its own, he didn't need people to "give him the time of day", they WANTED to give him the time of day because they wanted to be along for the ride
Zuckerberg is not where he is because he just had an idea lol, he executed better than anyone else at the time. If a women executes and creates as much value as Zuckerberg she can do whatever she wants socially. In fact, that'd make her more famous and more money, it'd be great.
It's hard enough for a white male to get to billionaire status... too bad about all the toxicity reminding women they're worse then men. Thanks mazmaz
