Yawn.
Her article was entirely too long, and in my opinion, incredibly boring. "Oh, it wouldn't be better if booth babes were complemented by booth guys, buuuut—I'll say that Chippendales is inherently sexist, because it's erotic dancers, I guess!"
What kind of example is that? Who the fuck gives a shit about Chippendales? How is it sexist to have erotic entertainment? Does this person consider all porn sexist? It sounds like she can't keep her type of argument straight. "Men aren't inherently sexist, but Chippendales is sexist, because!" Or is this some kind of self-hating shit where she thinks that women who pursue sexual titillation are sexist against themselves? I don't know the answer to that, but what I do know is this: there's a reason that's a blog entry and not an actually significant article.
It's a lot of talking about "let's not make this a thing, guys, and let's not use labels and let's deny ourselves," which is basically the rallying cry for weenies everywhere. It's impotent. It's assimilation and compliance. It's like a gay man saying, "don't look at me as gay, and I won't publicly identify that way; I'm just another unremarkable person in your openly heterosexual society. I'll act this way because it makes you comfortable, and I think that's good."
(Unless you're vehemently anti-gay, you obviously know that the example I've given is not, in fact, "good.")
That anyone is commenting in praise simply goes to show how the people involved don't actually understand what feminism is supposed to be (equality for all, which would therefore include men), and have instead clung to a much more narrow-minded and relatively recent redefinition of the movement. It's a lazy approach, much akin to "let's not talk about gays," or "let's not talk about racism," or any of the other half-assed efforts to turn the other cheek and pretend that societal problems don't exist.
A better article, which is unrelated to the game industry, but nonetheless:

That is the reason I'm disgusted by people like the chick who was mad about a forking joke at a tech convention. That shit is not your big concern. Likewise, if you're like this other woman and you're worried about Chippendales, you are fighting the most worthless and tiniest battles. You're annoying, and you're not going to accomplish anything. If you want to do something about patriarchy, misogyny, and misandry, don't dismiss them and just say, "Can't we all just get along?", because sweet little well-wishes don't do shit.
it hurts to know i will never fuck an alien
If you're going to talk Gonglegate and why feminism is complete bullshit, this is required viewing:
(Skip to around 8:00 if you know what happened at PyCon)
@Kohan
I don't think she was saying that Chippendales is sexist or that that's what she thinks. I think she was trying to convey that most of the femnazi's moan about male privilege and that woman are always sexualized and how men aren't or can't be. She was using Chippendales as an example of male sexualization to counter-argue hardcore feminist thought processes.
Once the video began and she started talking about washing dishes, I immediately stopped giving a shit. Who makes a video with such a boring beginning? I don't give a fuck about your dishes, random chick on the Internet. I wouldn't give a fuck about them even if you were a personal friend of mine. Regardless, I tried to be a soldier by skipping ahead to the 8:00 mark, but I quickly grew bored. Did she ever make a point? Did she start talking about dishes again? It's too bad no one would bother to watch such a brain-dead and poorly-presented video beyond the most absolutely bored—a point proven by its dismally small view count.
I have to say, though, that I really enjoy the sticker on their refrigerator. That they support that website is absolutely hilarious.
http://ncfm.org/
Did you really just out yourself as a supporter of a batshit crazy website like that? I certainly hope not, and that you just thought the boring video you've linked was somehow informative or otherwise enlightening. If you're unfortunately of the belief that NCFM.org is a legitimate home to intellectual and thought-provoking discourse, you may as well proudly subscribe to any of the insane supermarket tabloids, if not the feeds for websites plastered with dolphins and astrological signs, as they're just as admired and respected.
Actually, you know what? I take that back. I respect this site ever-so-slightly as a home to completely hilarious content.
Unlike the first, abysmally terrible video, that is one of the most amazing videos I have ever seen. The slow, sensual, and creepily ill-paced voiceover? Priceless. It positively oozes batshit insanity.
Did you.. did you actually watch the video? You've made more of an effort to discredit her based off of something irrelevant she said at the start than she actually spoke about said irrelevant things.
Putting almost naked booth dudes might be a good poison pill to use. I know some straight dudes just can't handle that shit, even if there are booth babes around they can look at.
Well, there is a difference between a beach full of guys in board shorts, and a beach full of guys in speedos and thongs.
I liked the part where Kohan attacked the website on the sticker and didn't watch your link, using that to discredit the person in the video itself.
All you ever need.

Amazonian masterhood lol
It was more so the talking about dishes, trailing off into other boring shit, and then failing to get to the point. Despite his having mentioned that things started at 8:00, I fast-forwarded to that part, and still didn't hear anything related. I have only so much patience for a random nobody talking nonsense into their webcam.
That other video, though? Fuck yes. The website on the sticker in the background just provided a sweet, sweet bonus, which led to that. That first chick's video would have been so much better if she, too, used awful MS Paint graphics and Movie Maker special effects. Clearly, she is inferior (as expected, naturally).
watching a youtube video that's just a lady reading her "speech" from a laptop right below the camera hurts my brain
especially the forced attempts to be witty
Is this because feminism is being misrepresented to these people by the Adria Richards and Sheryl Sandbergs of the world? That anyone is commenting in praise simply goes to show how the people involved don't actually understand what feminism is supposed to be (equality for all, which would therefore include men), and have instead clung to a much more narrow-minded and relatively recent redefinition of the movement.
