Why can't feminists just sit down and keep quiet and stop bothering people?

On behalf of all people who have wet/crapped themselves as adults (for whatever reason), I want an apology for reading that. Using "barely potty-trained" is a hurtful insult, making light of something beyond my control. You need to understand and be more sensitive before you go around linking to posts like that.

I'm going to ignore how illogical this is for just a moment (being that what he identifies as has no bearing on his analysis of modern feminism) and point out how short-sighted this thinking is.

Mykeru is certainly no fan of Elam (the guy who runs AVFM), if fact, he thinks the guy is a dickhead. He also doesn't particularly care for all of the views on the site. He has no vested interest in anything going on at AVFM aside from the opposition of nutjobs like PZ Myers and Rebecca Watson (and anyone involved in Atheism +) because they are ruining the atheism/sceptic community.

His position on the issue is clearly stated within the video (I'm going to bold the part you obviously missed).

I mean, I still consider myself to be left wing and progressive, but dammit, it gets harder every day. Modern feminism is teetering dangerously close to zealous feminism, and not because of real feminists.

Wait. A scientist who was involved in one of the greatest achievements of mankind in regards to space exploration is being crucified as a misogynist for his shirt? The guy helped land a probe on a comet traveling at fucktarded speeds, billions of miles away, and we're talking about his shirt? Isn't this ass fucking backwards? Very few are "crucifying him as a misogynist" - most are pointing out that the shirt is inappropriate because it objectifies women in an industry where women are already marginalized.

And it's really not a big deal, and he agreed with that assessment and apologized, so the MRAs white-knighting him look a little desperate.

To be fair, the shirt is wildly inappropriate for the magnetude of the conference being given. That said, I'm glad the majority of people agree that feminist are dicks for attacking this like they are; hopefully it makes people examine what feminist say with more scrutiny before just going along with it cause women have gotten the short stick throughout history.

It's all a matter of "how are you attacking it" and while clearly a few random twitterers went overboard (as you will find on literally every "issue" ever) that shouldn't be considered the median "feminist response" because it isn't.
