Bane you got a tough job cleaning this up and I know its not exactly productive discussion... but isn't locking a thread with well over 260 pages(inferiorsettings) of discussion over one instance of a circular argument a little bit like shooting as a first response ._.

If someone has something worth discussing, they can either PM me and I'll unlock this thread, or they can post it in a new thread.

quannum posted the original video in the Feminism Thread and I would normally respond there but the thread is locked.
GWW/Karen Straughan put out her response as to why these supposed benefits are pretty bullshit.

I agree with most of the points she brings up here. What it boils down to is that men and women are viewed differently and many of the negative expectations placed on women have a counterpart when it comes to males as well.
People gloss right over that.

There's also another video that was put out a little over a week ago where they got 25 female gamers to come together and talk about the benefits of playing while female.
I don't like this one as much but figured I'd include it in the thread anyway. Despite me not really liking the content much I do think it also supports the idea that its not so much privilege as just evidence that the expectations we generally have for males and females are simply different.

Most of her videos are worth watching if you've got a few days worth of free time to kill. There's a chunk of it that's bullshit, but most of the time she's got a keen eye for the mechanics of how feminism is sculpting our society.

It astounds me that more people don't speak up and voice the obvious notion of "hey wait a minute, men fucking love women and have been bending over backwards to please them since forever", which seems to be a running critique in much of her work.

I feel like this needs shared as another example of the authoritarian nature of the current era of feminists.

The gist is that a guy wrote a satirical article mocking trigger warnings and patriarchy, and in response some feminists claimed he made them uncomfortable which got him terminated from his position as student journalist, and later on the entrance to his dorm was vandalized with hate speech and shit.

But no one has the right to never be made uncomfortable, and no one has the right to never feel offended. If anything, human beings develop by having to confront differing and offensive (as ambiguous as that word is) opinions. At the University of Michigan began the student free speech movement—some members of the Daily participated in what would become Students for a Democratic Society. But as Brendan O’Neil recently penned, “Free speech is so last century. Today’s students want the ‘right to be comfortable’.”
