What a shittastic start. Clean it up. I'm getting sick of unlocking this thread only to have to lock it again a few minutes later. Maybe we don't need a feminism thread.

What exactly do you want me or Teryu to say to Maz there? His immediate response is pretty much "this stuff you posted is bullshit, I'm not even reading it because it makes feminists look bad"
Oh so you're using the Priran tactic of "let's post random comments on twitter/articles/videos made on the internet and attribute it to feminists".
I have plug-ins that block websites' comment sections on these things, so no I didn't see that. Apparently you love reading the high garbage of the internet though. Maybe you can post a separate thread where you post all the outrageous comments you read on the internet and rage about that. That way you wouldn't be shitting up real discussion on real issues. You can call it the Youtube Comments Thread.
So your entire method of refuting his points is that you don't read the articles posted and then antagonize Nynja into the responses you want to get the thread closed again.
Why are you so against discussing why feminists assert an overly aggressive defensive stance of "you're either with us or against us"? That is wounded animal survival bullshit.
Wouldn't be the first time they (Maz/Hey) have used this tactic. Something gets brought up, they defend their point for a bit, then just resort to deflecting shit away from them hoping Bane will step in and stop the onslaught. I guess Maz isn't even trying to comment on anything this time, he's just gonna go straight to "try to shit up the thread as quickly as possible to get it locked and save my damsels in distress".
Like fuck, he barely even commented on the article, he just attacked my persona from the get go.
In an attempt to discuss the articles, the thing I'm seeing is that the comments on those pages are showing how her having a happy life being a house wife shows how feminists don't actually care about women having the freedom to choose what kind of lifestyle they lead, but rather that they devote their entire being to perpetuating the false victimhood that the entire movement is based on.
The reason I "step in to stop the onslaught" is because the onslaught too often takes the form of personal attacks. I read the same forum you guys do, I know who's bullshitting and who's using me. What I do not know is how to prevent that and still attain the result of cleaning up this section. Even if I had all my mod powers, I would still be limited in enforcing the sorts of changes that are needed. Which is why I do so much of my modding in the form of posts. I'm trying to change the tone of the section from antagonistic, as this thread is right now, to something more calm, and somewhat more welcoming than Spam. Like seriously, this section is less welcoming than the section that literally tells new people to Get Out. That's not what political/social debate should be.
Thank you. More of this.
Haven't we all already agreed that a lot of feminists are mean and terrible people? Do we really need to keep discussing them?
It's important to call them out when they do it otherwise they'd never learn.
Posting about them on an unrelated site is not calling them out.
Well not calling them out, but making sure that this is the kind of things that feminists are known to actually do instead of trying to make a difference for the better.
Just like republicans are known for hating women, and christians for murdering gays, right?
You can't judge us all by the actions of a few anonymous commenters on gawker of all places.
But it's not just gawker. And to be fair people have linked jezebel, which is part of gawker, in this thread unironically as a source of information of feminists being higher life forms.
But not the comments section lol.
Yes, i get it, not all feminists are good people. But not all of them are bad either. Feminists are no different than any other group: some are good, some are bad.
I think it's more about illustrating why Feminism needs to get its house in order. Every time these kinds of outrageous sentiments are expressed it gets hand-waved away as some lunatic fringe, but said sentiment is omnipresent to the point where you can't justifiably hand wave it away as a few outliers.
Ignoring that radical feminism is at a forefront is like ignoring racism. It's there and it needs to be addressed before progress is made.
Real feminists identify as such and aren't trying to bring others down. They're trying to elevate themselves.
No, but maybe try limiting your criticism to those who deserve it.
I don't know why this is so hard to understand, but feminism isn't a house to get in order. It's not one organized, united, group. It's made up of countless independent people with different ideas. There is no one single thing that all feminists share in common. They are all different people, with different beliefs and attitudes, coming from all different walks of life. As much as feminists and anti-feminists argue, feminists argue amongst themselves even more. You can't blame all of them for everything even one feminist ever does.
