You're right about me using one set of circumstances and applying them to a different group. The trouble is just that a lot of it sounds alike. That's probably true in all instances and ideologies, though.

You're right about me using one set of circumstances and applying them to a different group. The trouble is just that a lot of it sounds alike. That's probably true in all instances and ideologies, though.

I understand that it can be confusing. It's okay to make mistakes, but when you do, you should try to correct them, and not defend them. Blaming people for the actions of others is not okay, no matter who it is, or what the actions are. I would hope most people could agree on that.

The whole reason that article was made into a big deal was because a staffer felt "threatened" by it. I've read it, and it's tongue-in-cheek and takes the piss out of tumblr folks, but it's not threatening unless you're looking to feel threatened, and by that point anything can be a threat. Imagine if "That man wore a hoodie and walked near me on the street at night" warranted a public apology because you dared to threaten someone. It's abnormal behavior.

It's confusing, but for the average person, it doesn't lead to self-reflection. Considering myself average, and looking at the views of folks in both sides of the thread and trying to split the difference, the talking over one another and conflict just makes me want to go "yeah, fuck it, I can support equality without needing a badge to prove I do." That's a poor public image, but my views might be limited, as mentioned.

But, the thing is, feminists are all different kinds of people, and will often disagree on what is okay and what is not. Personally, i think it is wrong to generalize a small part of group x to the entirety of it, no matter what the group is.

The problem is the shittiest voices happen to be the loudest voices (see: Sarkessian) who talk about the most ridiculous of bullshit, and the loudest voices are the ones that get all the attention and paint your cause in a very negative light to the people who arent SJW's...since SJW's are pretty much this:

I'm forced to agree with Nynja in regards to calling out SJWs being unnecessarily risky. When you're dealing with an infectious disease, it's safer for you and better for everyone outside of the currently infected group to spend your efforts inoculating the uninfected. Ideologies can be just as infectious as parasites and bacterium.

Technically it's the signal boosting of the crazies that cause the damage and give rise to fanatics. The problem is that a lot of people in the developed world just genuinely feel bored all the time and love stirring the shit, so controversy and drama sells, so non-crazies encourage the crazies by paying attention to them.

You have your level headed feminists who fight the good fight of equality. They have above average INT and MND, but low STR/DEX/VIT, and average CHR.
You have your extremist feminists who fight fight for "equality", but are actually fighting for superiority. They have below average INT and MND, but a select few of these extremists have a very high CHR stat, and these are the ones who become the leaders of the extremist faction. Yes, that CHR stat thats fucking useless in D&D is a very useful stat in the real world.
You have your SJW's, also known as the white knights. They have average physical stats, high INT but low MND.

The extremist feminists use their high CHR to exploit this low MND to recruit these people who think they're fighting the good fight for them. They believe everything the extremists have told them without thinking twice and will do anything to serve their best interests, even if it means ruining the lives of others. This involves hypocritical actions, like the aforementioned doxxing (even though that guy said that "as a guy, I dont have to worry about giving my name or address online without fear of being stalked or harassed") and/or attempting to tarnish their name and having them expelled from their school or fired from their job.

My biggest issue with current feminism(and most organized groups) is that it doesn't seem solution oriented. Or the solutions they present are rather outrageous/unrealistic (I.E. if you're behind a girl at 2am, move to the other side of the street because you can read minds) or bitching about a shirt and how the sciences hate woman yet none of your efforts are put forth to get more woman/young girls in the sciences.

Dont forget the prized hypocrisy gem where they attempted to organize efforts to boycott a game because the dev supported gamergate...the dev being a female...when a part of what they fight for is that there are not enough women in the gaming industry.
