Excuse me? Were you looking for the word 'criticize'?

“Is it bad if I say no?” the actress responded in a Redbook magazine interview. “It’s not really something I think about. Things are different now, and I know a lot of the work that paved the way for women happened before I was around… I was never that feminist girl demanding equality, but maybe that’s because I’ve never really faced inequality.”
“I know it sounds old-fashioned, but I like the idea of women taking care of their men,” Cuoco said. “I’m so in control of my work that I like coming home and serving him. My mom was like that, so I think it kind of rubbed off.”

If there are more quotes elsewhere, then sorry. But no where in there does she say its "not important"

I don't care if she thinks them, speaks them or goes up onto Mount Sinai and inscribes them on stone tablets. It's still her opinion.

Now, opinions can absolutely affect others. People can act on their opinions. People can also act on other people's opinions. Acting on one's own opinion is expected. Acting on another person's opinion without forming your own, to me, makes you a sheep.

There's a line between respectfully disagreeing with someone's opinion and policing it. Policing opinions generally turns out really badly for a lot of people. The Crusades, Inquisition, etc.

Hitler had a lot of opinions. He even wrote a book about it, it's called Mein Kampf. Don't see that getting pulled off the shelves any time soon.

Good thing she apologized about being vague on that point and asserted that there wasn't anything between the lines and we accepted the apology right?
Oh wait, this is about you guys being upset that she had to apologize and do that.

I already quoted it. More specifically:

She's more than welcome to say anything she wants. But here's the thing: so am i, and so is everyone else. We have just as much a right to criticize her for what she says as she does for saying it.

Accepted the apology and yet still continue to act as if there was anything else to read into there..? Meanwhile, everyone else read it and instantly understood that and didn't fly off the handle.
I'm not upset about anything aside from the fact that people would rather go in rather than even attempt to understand. I didn't need for her to apologize to understand what she meant and even if I thought she meant something that offended me, I'd be posing questions rather than picking up the pitchfork as a first resort and that this is the response every. single. time.

Certainly, I agree 100%. Go for it.

The only argument I'm making at all is that she should not be EXPECTED to apologize for anything. I'm sure that many, you and Maz included would see it as an appreciated gesture (she did apologize so I'm sure you do) but it should neither be expected, or even worse, forced on anyone. It's just like how the media expects some 1500 word canned essay apology from famous people/politicians every time they make a statement that hasn't been rehearsed 500 times and read on a teleprompter.

If she did not intend to offend anyone, but mistakenly did, then apologizing is the proper course of action. There's nothing wrong with apologizing.

Things ARE different now, a LOT different: Women can read, women can write, women are allowed an education, women have a place outside of the kitchen, women can get a job, women wont get justifiably murdered for having premarital sex, etc etc

Your failure to understand this shit offends me.

Actually I really didn't give a shit about this story and called her irrelevant when Nynja posted it. If you want to paint me as pitchfork wielding, go for it.

When I say people, I don't mean you specifically. If you didn't do that, then good on you.
However, it is a fact that there are people who did.

    Fair enough.

Though reading back, I really don't understand why she went on a housewife spiel when asked about Feminism. They seem irrelevant to each other, unless you're the proponent of outdated definitions of Feminism.

Yeah, that's why I can actually sorta understand people's confusion (it was a total non-sequitur); though not the reaction to it. The two statements do not belong together.

Actress with breast implants gets role playing woman who is only valued for her looks playing opposite men who are only valued for their intellect, does not feel she has experienced "inequality" because they all make a mil an episode

Noone can speak for her, or where her train of thought went, but perhaps that's what comes to mind for her in terms of Feminism. I'm not well schooled on the topic of Feminism at all, but I do know it goes farther beyond women being expected to be housewives in the past. As she says in the article, it's not something that comes to the forefront of her mind because she's happy with what she has. I don't see why she should have to apologize, but it's nice she did. Personally, I'll throw an apology out there if I'm misunderstood, or someone takes something I say the wrong way. It's not a problem in my mind.

Some may appreciate one of my favorite sayings:
"Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, most of the time they're full of shit, and more often than not, it's best to keep them to yourself."

What's wrong with women deciding they don't have a need to be aggressively feminist?

This is getting dangerously close to zealous behavior.

If your role model is Kaley Cuoco I feel like you need to aim higher.

Idk, I'd be ok with making 20 mil a year for acting a bit dumb in a sitcom.
