This is seriously fucking easy. I'm jumping on the archi is stupid bandwagon, because reading the past 3 pages made me facepalm more than a few times.

The correct answer is the west is both misandric and misogynist. Usually the misogynist stuff is cultural, like gender roles and stereotypes (womens can't do maths, should be cooks, etc). The misandric stuff tends to be legal, with a dash of cultural, like alimony laws, parental rights, family courts, or the massive down-playing of violence towards men (from either men or women).

Who wrote the laws? Men did. Men taking their notes from the men that came before them.

Men also happened to create a culture in which certain tasks like leaving care of children to women, being the sole breadwinner and subduing emotions (sans rage) is part in parcel with being the ideal male in society. Did we think that setting these unrealistic limitations upon ourselves would go without consequence? That by normalizing machismo in society that women wouldn't take advantage of these social norms when it became beneficial to their aims? The hatred towards men in these situations is a direct result of you failing to be an ideal man as society defines it.

As we tear down the false idol of what a man 'should be' or at least bring light to the failings of older models, we can come closer to a society where being raped by a woman isn't considered the butt of a joke or custody battles aren't as lopsided as they can be. You know, the things that feminists try to highlight before being hijacked by radicals or men who feel the word 'feminism' doesn't gel with their identity and thus rebrand as 'men's rights' groups. As if there is a difference.
