why not? that'd be hilarious. like a miniature version of the tumblr invasion of 4chan
If you ever do want to name drop me for that reason, though, feel free. I'll take whatever results. Come at me, bitches.
Posting this indiegogo here because I think it's a neat project and highlights positive feminism in gaming:

The Afterlife Empire game looks pretty fun.
also, if you want some more lady drama this can explain some shit that's been going down the last few days in the indie game-dev scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5-51PfwI3M
video briefly hits on the project I listed
So, lolconservative views alert, but that aside, this anon woman hits the crux of the corruption/cronyism issue here:

I'm curious how all this bullshit social justice warrior cocksuckery will affect indie games development and just development overall. Straying off-topic a bit but there was an article bitching about White Gay men stealing black woman culture which got national coverage. Then there's tons of shit about how white people twerking is racist. It's a fucking type of dance, christ.
I just don't understand it at all. Like I said, I'm extremely curious how this type of thinking will affect society.
It won't do shit. The spin is already being applied. Anyone who is against her is a misogynist and anyone who is for her is a SJW.
This is why I hate the media.
Bravo to this writer. Most of those few women like me who actually like first person shooters, grand strategy, space sims, and all those other genres that make up “core” gaming don’t care if they can play as a female protagonist, or if the girls are wearing skimpy outfits, or if you have to rescue the princess. They like the exact same things as men who like those games, and they just want good games, nothing more nothing less. And most of them feel that all this rambling on about representation is distracting from the real issue: big developers and publishers are making shitty games for mass appeal instead of the kind of awesome games we played growing up.
Eh
I don't agree with that. A good game is nice but a good game that also represents you is even better. That's why i like wrpgs and their tendency to let you make your own avatar.
I don't doubt some women agree with her but i think she stretches the truth when she says "most".
There's something troubling about sentence structure that begins with "Most of those few women like me who actually" because it completely redefines the word 'most' to mean 'people in a minority like me' but frames a position in a basic but effective argumentum ad populum. It's extremely dishonest from the get go.
You're getting trolled
This is bait if I ever saw it.To be part of this scene while holding the religious and political views that I do is very difficult. I generally keep it close to my chest because the few times I’ve said even simple things like “I can’t make it to the thing on Sunday because I’m going to church” had led to all sorts of derision and mockery by other people in the industry. I shudder to imagine the blowback from their clique if I told them about how I voted yes on Prop 8.
Holy christ the blogger defends Doug TenNapel. Doug TenNapel.
A good game is a good game to me (aka a great story, no matter the main character). Yes most games have white male protagonists so being white and male, it's easy for me to say that I guess. When you think of good games you remember fondly, you remember everything about the game and not just "I liked it because the main character looked like me!".
To be honest though, like Kuya said. I favor wrpgs mostly and for myself tend to make female avatars and go down the assassin/stealth modes of gameplay. I'm trying to think back of any really fun games I played where the character was a white male and stood out as being one of the key features to my enjoyment. I guess Farcry 3, but that was more in terms of playing as someone going from Party-jock to Panther-slayer which was fun as shit.
Feminist demands for better representation in video games and demanding that publishers release better games are not mutually exclusive. Saying one 'distracts' from the other without a shred of evidence is foolish.
if anything the argument could be made that pushing for more representation might have a slight impact on games being formulaic and lacking in identity
Honestly though the DOA Girls looking like they do isn't the problem its every female looking like they do.
