You don't have to even fuck people to claim they raped you and get away with it.

I have to admit, this is all very entertaining watching both sides sling shit at each other.

People screaming at actual feminist because she hasn't done a review on Duke Nukem like Anita has.
Mention of the Zoe Quinn nudes has been absent from most of the reports on this in the last couple of days I can't imagine why.
I would imagine its because they are irrelevant to the discussion going on. Are they somehow worth noting?
Only if you don't have ipecac on hand and need to induce vomiting.
And hours before that article, a Gawker journalist went after Christina Hoff Sommers for her viewpoint on the ordeal;

nope. nothing wrong with gaming journalism. Just y'know not looking into ANYTHING they write. It's all the evil white cisgender male gamer privilege transphobes sexist bigots eye-rapers that murder lambs and eat babies. It's aaaallllll them. pay no attention to the man behind the curtain

Remind me anything that Silverstring Media creates, so as not to touch it and develop assburgers.

All of a sudden, everyone is pointing out their relation to the work their critiquing.Update: Jenn Frank has purchased and is a supporter of Zoë Quinn’s work, although this is the first article she has written on the developer. Frank has also briefly met Anita Sarkeesian.
some stuff thats been dug up about them that makes them sound like a cult but i don't really want to care at this point its all too strange
Smells like another JournoList to me, as there was already a google group that was found that had them all bitching about how to fight this.

A few of these people contained in this DiGRA meeting are retweeting, from their ivory tower, an insane amount of anti-"gamer" tweets from the usual suspects.

You're a dumb fuck, no one ever said that. She's talking about it because it's a problem for her specifically. Believe it or not, sometimes feminists talk about problems that they don't believe only happen to women. Sometimes they even talk about problems that almost never happen to women, and usually only to men. Because ya know... they are people too, and sometimes they experience problems, and want to talk about them, regardless of whether being a women had any part in it.
Zoe Quinns PR person, Maya Kramer, works for Silverstring. http://silverstringmedia.com/team/
Maya Kramer is apparently good friends with the guy that runs IGF (indie games festival); Brandon Boyer. https://twitter.com/search?q=from%3A...donnn&src=typd
The IGF competition has been called out for having a bullshit judging system in the past. From an entrant:
https://therottingcartridge.wordpres...-with-the-igf/Eight (8) judges were assigned to Kale In Dinoland. Of those judges, 1 didn’t install the game or respond to any of our invitations (which we had to send multiple times before judges joined). 3 judges didn’t play the game. Of the remaining 5 judges that played the game, 3 played it very close to the IGF deadline, which was December 5th. One judge, our outlier, played the game for 53.2 minutes. Excluding the outlier, on average each judge – including the 3 that didn’t play it – played the game for almost 5 minutes’ time. Back in that build, Kale’s intro cutscene took about a minute’s time. So we’re talking almost 4 minutes for each judge of actual game time.

From a judge:
http://auntiepixelante.com/?p=525i judged the igf this year. it was a frustrating experience. i’m going to try and identify the biggest problems with the igf process and suggest some solutions. that’s if the igf is interesting in actually “rewarding innovation in indie games” (its claim) instead of simply being a press spectacle. the competition seems perfectly happy, at present, being a press spectacle....
i was assigned, at random, fourteen games entered into the competition to play and score. all the other games, though i was permitted to download them, play them, and leave judge notes (and i’ve explained how effective those are – often mine were the first, sometimes the only, notes on games i wasn’t assigned), i was not allowed to contribute to the score that decides their final standing in the igf.
Guess who happens to defend IGF from these people, in an extremely inflammatory fashion? Jenn Frank, who is also a judge:
http://www.unwinnable.com/2012/02/23...e-the-problem/If you honestly feel that your flame is trapped in a vacuum, move on. Just go. There are other communities that will accept you, hopefully. Just go.
But why flog people who are genuinely creating a breathable environment for your work? Why bother?
Are you really so bored? Are you nine?
Create your own system. Make your own clubhouse. I dare you.
Small world huh?
