Hopefully this means the organized campaign pressuring their employers directly/their advertising resources to sweep these fucks off their bully pulpits and out into the street is working then. And for that matter this will hopefully clear them all out and they can go find a job with Gawker, writing articles on Jezebel about how paternity tests are anti-feminist or something even more absurd. At least it'll make it easy to filter them out forever and they can stop forcing their agendas and narratives into our vidya.

This might have been just you using a crappy, or you seeing a headline and not reading the article, but I know the actual article you're referencing and it was the Jezebel writer talking about how another writer who was not affiliated with the site held this belief, and why she felt it was absurd.

Second: What you’re called whenever you talk about social justice issues when writing about games, even if you don’t mean to push an agenda or personally benefit.

Language, it turns out, is quite the double-edged sword. And the fact is, both definitions can be true at once.

In every instance I've seen 'SJW' lobbed at someone it's been the second definition, and suggesting its used as anything other than a cudgel meant to silence those who speak up is dishonest to say the least. I guess I agree with him that #gamergate is a whole lot of nothing, lunatics running the asylum in a pointless social media war engineered to distract everyone it can from actually discussing issues regarding representation in video games for anybody who feels underserved by modern publishers.

I agree. This is likely the finest article on the subject that I've read, especially since it makes a point of discussing the acknowledged corruption in the industry, all while not paying any real mind to the Zoe Quinn thing. That speaks to the quality of the piece.
