You're still couching things in terms of short-term emotional responses.
PTSD is a medical condition and trigger warnings serve to help the afflicted with managing an often intense set of physical and psychological symptoms. They really shouldn't bother you any more than a NSFW warning since as far as I know you don't have PTSD.

One is a clear indication that you are on a place on the internet that does trigger warnings. Its absence on the latter provides no such guarantee. It's an indication of site policy, not a rating like the MPAA gives out.

Exposure therapy is indeed used to treat PTSD, but it is done in a controlled, scheduled environment. Trigger warnings are part of that environment. Surely you don't advocate ambushing patients with things that trigger them.
