#gamergate pretends to care about gaming journalism while simultaneously sourcing conspiracy theories from returnofkings. And then its proponents get huffy when it's accused of being a targeted harassment campaign.

Do you not see the immense incongruity of a hashtag movement that says 'journalism must improve and become more objective' while simultaneously taking the editorial staff of returnofkings at their word? Honestly, I'm curious where you developed your views. The only people who I've seen similar to yours were on SRS, old FYAD, and a select few on metafilter. The only problem with that, is they were/are all literal communists, like, hardcore communists.

I don't know what any of that means. I can comfortably assert that I'm not a communist.

And you might want to narrow down which of my views you're talking about. Are we talking about my standards of journalistic integrity? My view of the Men's Rights Movement? The things I've said about #gamergate? Most of the time my views are shaped by my interactions with other people and the books I read, just like how the majority of human learning happens.

I didn't realize pointing out #gamergate is more often than not a targeted harassment campaign bursting at the seams with misogyny and right-wing lunacy is 'out of the norm.' Is suggesting the enthusiast press can't be held to the same standards of objectivity as Reuters that fringe a belief? Is showing contempt for Brietbart and people who parrot the things written by Adam Baldwin or conspiracy theories from return of kings, infowars, etc. that extreme?

And if I've lost the ability to be 100% civil it's time to remember that I've endured much worse insults in this thread, including from you.
