I've been trying to find a store that sales hockey cards (or sports cards in general I guess) because I want to buy some LA Kings cards but I can not for the life of me find any in south jersey. Does anyone know of any good places on line at least to get hockey cards?
I have two Jarmior Jagr rookie cards and a Martin Brodeur rookie card; they do not compare in awesomeness or value though to my Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card.
Everything from Philadelphia sucks the biggest of cocks.
TJ Oshie avoided arbitration tomorrow. 5 years, $20m ish.
Just another guy the arbitrator will compare Gags to, tomorrow.
As far as sports (or hockey cards in this case) go, are they that popular down there?
I know up here there's a buncha trading card shops, and even Walmart sells hockey cards.
TJ Oshie, 5 years for 4.175 million per.
compared to
Jiri Hudler, 4 years for 4 mil per.
Hm.
Alright holy fuck. So I am fucking hammered because {drum roll} yesterday (7/19) was my birthday. I have been traveling for work since Monday, and woke up today to "holy shit wtfbbq" Holmgren action. Assume I have read everything out there because I have; this is how I view it:
A) Dreger is a fucking idiot; if Weber truly did not want to play in NSH (as he implied), there is no way he signs a 14 year offer sheet. You sign a one year deal if you want to roll, which fucks us over 10x more because it's either match or he is gone, and if you match it's only for one year.
B) Way more likely is this: Weber wanted to get paid before the CBA uncertainty; he was fine doing it in Philly or NSH, but NSH was too slow to meet the ultra deal terms, so he forced Poile's hand with an offer sheet. Weber is down to do NSH or PHI, but he wants to get paid period.
This leaves us at a weird juncture, because the cap hit over the term is reasonable, but PHI's structure is straight asshole fuck you land. My hope, and that of any normal sizeable market hockey fan outside of PHI, is that we match. But the issue that I don't even know is: Can we afford to pay him $26m in a calendar year? If we can do it, then you have to match.
If not, then you still match and sell shares / take a loan to still match. See Rangers offer sheeting Sakic for proof; they ran to sell shares in the new COL center to keep Sakic, If we do not match, I will lose my shit, We have said since day 1 that we would match any offer sheet definitively. This blows because of the front loading, but you have to match. You've said we have green light to be a cap team, fucking prove it.
The lady is very beautiful...Thank you very much....LOUZHU .
I miss Abraxas. He was entertaining. The rampages he and Sep would have back and forth were fantastic.
Oilers agreed to a 1 year deal with Gagner before arbitration.
One.
Year.
Retarded.
But also seems weak to be bitching about that when I just read the thread about the shooting in CO at a movie premiere. >.<
Man this is like the worst offseason ever. What's even more ironic is that I grew up a Flyers fan during the legion of doom era. Dad had a corporate box and went to like a million games. When I moved to Nashville and swapped allegiances, it wasn't a big deal as they were in different conferences and rarely interacted. Fast forward to 2007 when we had to offload Hartnell and Timmonen to them, wasn't very pleased then. If they take Weber via a MFing offer sheet, I will lose it and actively watch their games to cheer for whoever the hell they are playing against. Seppuku and I may actually become friendly simply from a mutual loathing of the Flyers; yes it's terrifying.
Yeah this sucks, though at least they still have a good prospects pool. This had been one of my favorite rivalries the last few years, I hope they pony up for Weber and stay competitive.
I am suddenly WAY more interested in women's Olympic sprinting.
Vancouver's Green Men knew one of the deceased in the Colorado Batman shooting; posted a picture of them with her and a paragraph about how they met and a little about her life on their Facebook page.
Our hearts go out to the victims of the Colorado shooting. Sadly, we knew one of the victims. We met Jessica Redfield last year in Boston during the finals. She was an aspiring sports journalist.. and a Canucks fan. RIP

Seriously, she's ridiculously cute.
Doanface is at NYR head office at this moment
I'll give my thoughts on the whole offer sheet.
1) I'm glad this has happened, in that it now eliminates Weber from signing with anyone else but here or NSH.
2) hit is great for what he'd offer us in terms of skills, and a lot of indications point to him playing solid minutes at least until he's 35-36 so he can retire, great
3) i'm still expecting a trade, where the flyers regain some of their picks (which Weber >> 4 picks, especially considering they're looking to be late picks) by offloading someone like Meszaros/Read
I'm not concerned about money for Schenn, Read, Giroux, or Couturier seeing as we'll be short Timmonens 6m, most likely one of the other D (Cobourn/Meszaros), Pronger goes onto LTIR, and Hartnell will most likely get a new deal which will hopefully be cap friendly.
Flyers got balls
