The biggest part of this deal is that the Rangers add another top 6 forward and Kreider, Stepan and McDeeznutz stay on the team
Nash was the one who pretty much destroyed any value he had left by saying he only really wanted to go to NY or Detroit and with detroit being rivals no way howson was trading him there.
Can you blame Nash though? After Howson sorta threw him under the bus, I'd be like "Well, you're either getting a me who doesn't give a shit in your dressing room, or limited value, because fuck you, I wanna play for the Rangers. Have fun Scott. :D"
Now I really REALLY hope we dont sign Doan. We only have 11 million in cap left and I dont want 7M+ commited in a 35 year old with a multi year contract
This shores up our top 6 nicely. We still need to add some bottom 6 depth at the deadline, and I'd really like another puckmover on the team besides MDZ.
To start the season:
Hagelin-Richards-Nash
Kreider-Stepan-Callahan
Asham-Boyle-Pyatt
Rupp-Halpern-???
It gets better when Gabby's back:
Kreider-Richards-Gaborik
Nash-Stepan-Callahan
Hagelin-Boyle-Pyatt
Rupp-Halpern-Asham
But that's not a lot of depth, and that bottom 6 is badddd. One top 6 injury and Hagelin having to move up really kills the bottom 6's depth. We definitely need a kid like Thomas or Miller to make it out of camp, otherwise we'll have to make an aquisition at the deadline for more depth.
Doan should stay around the 4~4.5 mark. If some team throws 7m at him a season, they're pretty fucking dumb.
inc Doan to Columbus for 29m for 3yrs
I'd rather give Kreider a shot with Richards over putting Haglin there just my opinion.
In non-rangers news: Lubomir Visnovsky has filed grievance with the NHLPA to attempt to void his trade to the islanders.
Kreider and Stepan have some chemistry, as did Hagelin and Richards. Figured keep them together.I'd rather give Kreider a shot with Richards over putting Haglin there just my opinion.
The 3rd line with Hagelin is quite good. But that won't happen until December at the earliest, and that implies no one in the top 9 will be injured. Usually there's always one guy out, so that means Asham or Rupp will be seeing regular 3rd line ice time. And that sucks. No that 4th line is bad. That 3rd line is actually very good

LOOOOL cant blame him
Goodnight sweet prince. Its a shame you never lived up to the potential that you had

Also Stu Bickel was an extra in D3 the mighty ducks.
And now I have to go watch the movie to find his ass
So anyone else wanna mark April 5th on their calendar for Nash's return to columbus. I can only imagine the boo's
What a robbery by NYR;
Columbus should've asked for Stepan/Kreider + 1st + Erixon
NYR should've offered Anisimov/Dubi + 1st + something.
Should've met in the middle with Stepan/Dubi + 1st + Erixon or something else.
Instead, NYR just bullied Columbus into taking what it wanted to give. I fucking hate playing in the Atlantic Division, this is seriously getting into Miami Heat territory but on a division scale.
Rick Nash
Brad Richards
Marian Gaborik
Ilya Kovalchuk
Claude Giroux
Danny Briere
James Neal
Evgeni Malkin
John Tavares
Sidney Crosby
Sean Coutourier
Brayden Schenn
all play in the Atlantic. And thats just the forwards.
Lundqvist, Fleury, and Brodeur all play goalie in the division too.
Seriously; new all-star game format. Atlantic Division vs the other 5.
Reports are saying the rangers offered more at the deadline that included more prospects and picks. Patience is a virtue!
Well, think of it this way.
BJs can't do any worse than last year, right?
...
Right?
And other news...no jail time for Buff from his boat incident.
