Nash is way overrated, but the Rangers didn't give up any pieces that are even close to essential.

Not for this season, but Erixon is a big-time prospect. Between acquiring him and getting out from under Nash's contract, it's not that bad for Howson.

I agree.

Like I said, the 2012-13 Rangers will be scary talented.

It just isn't a massive failure on Howson's part. Hands were tied, had to move Nash, limited teams interested, etc.

Nash was the one who pretty much destroyed any value he had left by saying he only really wanted to go to NY or Detroit and with detroit being rivals no way howson was trading him there.

This shores up our top 6 nicely. We still need to add some bottom 6 depth at the deadline, and I'd really like another puckmover on the team besides MDZ.

Kreider and Stepan have some chemistry, as did Hagelin and Richards. Figured keep them together.

The 3rd line with Hagelin is quite good. But that won't happen until December at the earliest, and that implies no one in the top 9 will be injured. Usually there's always one guy out, so that means Asham or Rupp will be seeing regular 3rd line ice time. And that sucks.

What a robbery by NYR;

Columbus should've asked for Stepan/Kreider + 1st + Erixon
NYR should've offered Anisimov/Dubi + 1st + something.

Should've met in the middle with Stepan/Dubi + 1st + Erixon or something else.

Instead, NYR just bullied Columbus into taking what it wanted to give. I fucking hate playing in the Atlantic Division, this is seriously getting into Miami Heat territory but on a division scale.
