DGB has been pretty hit or miss for me lately but this was pretty good.
Yeah, and I'd rather have a Smith/Dubnyk combo than Khabby/Dubnyk, and Smith has shown he can play solid with not much in front of him, so he'd be a nice fit.
still one of the greatest save ive seen
Considering Phoenix has a very solid defense, a great defensive coach in Tippet and has only had one great year and that wasnt till he was 30 (he hasnt really had a "good" season unless you count his rookie season as a back up) I'd wait to see if he can do it again next year.
Tippet and the Yotes Defense made even Bryzgalov look good.
Smith could very will be a one year wonder.
Or any goalie in Phoenix will be good no matter what. Smith also was always very talented but got derailed a ton of injuries. Tippett and Burke knew how to work with Smith. I'd bet on him having a good season next year.

This is a seriously great article on Maloney and Tippett and how they do such an amazing job considering the circumstances they're in.
I just always have a hard time getting to up on a player that has one great year. esp when he didn't have any before then. I usually wait to see if they can do it for a couple/few seasons before i'll get on the train and say they are a great player.
I like this too![]()
Best save I've ever seen. For obvious reasons.
Like I think Pekka has made some amazing saves (e.g. Bieksa in OT 2nd round vs VAN last year), but none of his saves come even close to most of the worst ones in the video. I love the desperation goalie stick save of luckiness / awesomeness. Though Rinne does have this odd one going for him:
