According to TSN Players gonna Full reject the lasted NHL Offer and should anniounce it today
I'm seeing things that the players will in fact reject the new proposal, but that it's much, much closer than the previous one. Seems like progress is being made at least.
DGB - Offseason Winners and Losers
Winners: Montreal Canadiens – Assuming the lockout wipes out the first 70 games of next season, may finally get a full year out of Andrei Markov.Losers: New York Islanders – Despite a handful of roster moves, still can’t reasonably be expected to compete in an Atlantic Division where every other team has the unfair advantage of getting to play multiple games against the New York Islanders.Winners: Toronto Maple Leafs – Have kept essentially the same roster that’s best known for being incapable of winning a game after the all-star break, which is brilliant since this season won’t have one.Losers: Dallas Stars – The Republican campaign platform calls for massive reductions to Medicare for US residents under the age of 55, which will be bad news for one-third of their top line.
This new deal the NHL proposal seems a lot more workable to get a deal done. If the NHLPA counters with say a bit more revenue and the cap hit not going down as much, I think the NHL would most likely agree to that. Seems both sides did start with their dream proposals and now it seems they should be able to work out a middle ground.
Seems odd the NHL would want the cap to lower but not have any roll back on player salaries. If they do that, 16 teams would be over the cap, some as much as 10 million. I would think the NHLPA might want to make it at least 62-63 million if they indeed want that.
Salary rollback would mean that owners would be admitting that the contacts they handed out like candy were idiotic and unsustainable.
2012 is real
Spoiler: show
Not allowing a salary rollback is also an incredibly devious maneuver to divide and conquer the players, a la pitting the rich versus the poor. If a rollback occurs, it affects contracts very differently. Losing out on fifteen percent on a five million dollar contract compared to a million dollar contract is a lot of money. On the other hand, allowing contracts to remain the same while lowering the salary cap (let's say for argument's sake 58 million) means a tremendous amount of roster moves, either through trading players, or sending them to the minors. Depending on the player's current situation, their opinions on what they want in the next CBA will vastly conflict.
Just arrived today. Got from a dealer in Boston that was recommended to me on the IceJerseys forums. Team-issued 54 authentic made in Canada; the exact same jersey they wear on the ice. The "authentics" they sell on NHLShop.com / IceJerseys / etc. are Indo-EDGEs made in Indonesia and not really authentic. Only mild downside is that since it's made to be worn on the ice, it's a bit baggier for pads.

I am sending to the Preds' actual team customizer to get Erat put on. Sort of bragging, but I am amped. No lockout please!
Absolutely sick, man. Jealous. Still waiting on CBA to get anymore Caps gear though.![]()
A lockout would totally ruin our Preds v Caps bro-date on October 5th Bregor ; ;
The piano keys for the collar is sick. Congrats on the great purchase.
Thankfully it was only a 3 ounce street hockey ball, but I went to block a slapshot last night and it ramped up my stick and hit me right in the bridge of my nose and I can't breathe out of my nose to save my life now lol This is miserable. Who the hell blocks shots in rec leagues? I swore off blocking shots 3 years ago after I had to see a foot doctor cause of an injury to my diabetic foot after blocking one and look what I did to myself again.... ~_~
I pissed off someone once playing street hockey (hit him into a bank of snow). He tomahawked me straight in the center of my back with the fucking blade of his stick, then ran off. I couldn't fucking move for like 5 minutes.
