I do Darren Dreger, Pierre Lebrun, and Bob McKenzie along with several Preds only bloggers and pundits. McKenzie is the best talking head in hockey by a country mile imo.

And the NHL's new offer is pretty huge progress. HRR keeps the same definition and players' share of pie goes from 49% to 47% over six years. Slight movement on the overall %, but the HRR definition remaining the same is HUGE; like worth 4-5% on the rev sharing front. And Bettman said they would be willing to negotiate further, but offer stays on table until Saturday only.

Im hoping the PA counters early on Saturday and settles by the end of the day. First time I have had any hope in a long time.

The newer deal actually seems reasonable, yes the players' percentage would be lower than the newer NFL deal, but NFL teams also have three times as many players and the average player salary is like a fourth of that of NHLers. With HRR starting the same and revenues likely increasing again, players would probably come close to making what they are now still.

I'm wondering what the new proposed salary cap is though, I haven't seen a mention of it.

Based on what I heard today, unless there's dramatic reversal by one side or the other or both, the lockout goes Saturday night at midnight.

Well, if they lose a whole season again, it was work out during the last lock out that the Cup must be rewarded each season regardless if there is an NHL season or not. Another league will play for it.
