Same here. Watching the interviews with Bettmen and Fehr today only made it worse. I thought the thread title was pretty funny when it was made, but now that it's actually coming true, I kinda cringe every time I go to click on it

Let's say that they reach another five year deal. Will this happen again five years down the line? Is this something that we're going to have to deal with every few years until both parties get their shit together? I love hockey. It is the greatest sport in the world. But there's only so much I can forgive.

Fehr is hinting now the past 2 days (whether he is seriously considering it or not) that if the players get locked out the removal of the salary cap itself might become a demand of the NHLPA as a potential solution to both the pot share debate (no need to argue money split if you can pay your players as much as your business can afford while staying in the black) and the issue that franchises that aren't being successful (in the non-sports world free market, businesses have to be allowed to fail... owners will be forced to be smarter with their money rather than signing 15 yr contracts, etc). #Armageddon

Fehr's just posturing with the salary cap comment, no way they'd put that back on the table. They'd be asking for a 2-3 year lockout. Plus the players have done quite well under the cap, I don't think there's a real push to get rid of it.

Kari Lehtonen extends with Dallas, 5 years 5.9mil/yr. Great to get him locked up, gives plenty of time for Campbell to develop. If Campbell is knocking o the door in 2016/2017 Kari will have plenty of years left on his deal for a decent trade return.

John Carlsson extends with Washington, 6 years 4mil/year. Great deal. Breg will be happy.

also if Bettman was being truthful that all of the players' proposals have been in absolute dollars and not in percentages, that's indeed a little bit of a knock against them. Seems more reasonable to make things percentages during a period of worldwide economic instability with based on a growth rate that we don't know is fully sustainable for the next 5-6 years.

Servers were down at work today so we got to goof off, I spent the day researching my non-NHL options and I actually am very intrigued and excited to be going to a variety of games, for various teams at several levels of hockey.

On the docket, from Pittsburgh, I'm weighing visiting:

Niagra Ice Dogs (OHL)
Erie Otters (OHL)
Lake Erie Monsters (AHL)
Wilkes-Barre Scranton Baby Penguins (AHL)
Hershey Bears (AHL)
Johnston Tomahawks (NAHL)

I am also considering a 3/4 day weekend road trip to interior southern Ontario for Kitchener/Windsor/London and coming out the back side in Michigan for Plymouth Whalers as well as asking my extended family + parents for a combined contribution (as a Christmas gift) towards me going to the Memorial Cup in Saskatchewan.

I'm already for sure going to the Teddy Bear Toss games for Johnston (NAHL) or Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) in December, whichever one my girlfriend can get off for cause shes always thought that was an amazing event to watch on Youtube.

If lockout goes beyond WC and full season is lost, Yakupov will be in juniors and I can see him & Galyenchuk or w/e when the Sarnia Sting play the Erie Otters on a Saturday night game in Erie, 2 hours north of Pittsburgh.
