I was raised in a small town for 12 years before moving to Vancouver. Parents didn't put me in hockey, afraid is get crushed. I probably would have, but i was a fast skater. Plus Asian playing hockey back then?!?!?! Unheard of!

Hockey is damn expensive. If u ever have a kid, I pray they don't want to play goalie. Lol

But I'll 2nd Vagus' statement of "Pray they don't wanna be a goalie." That shit would get more expensive even quicker.
I pity the parents whose kids were like "I NEED a composite stick!" when they were hundreds of dollars each.

At least when you're men's league age you aren't going to outgrow
your pads every six months, cost is mitigated a bit by the pads lasting 8-10 years if you take care of them.
