'mutually redefined' means that the NHL makes a new definition, and it sits out there until the players cave and accept it. HRR is pretty much right where the players want it, in that it contains pretty much everything that the players would play a part in(gate-driven revenue and tv). I believe the main thing the owners want is to base HRR off of net profit rather than gross revenue, so pretty much the overhead for arena staff/concessions would be paid for by the players.

And as I thought, the NHLPA fucked it up. I'll wait till we get word on what the 3 proposals are to see if they were good or bad offers but at this point, if the NHLPA can't work with what was offered yesterday, season is lost. At this point, I might not even care when they come back. If I have to deal with this shit every 5-7 years, whats the point?

Both sides suck but anyone who thinks any of the owners' "proposals" actually count as proposals in anything other then name, is stupid. Every proposal they have made have been bullshit, they know it and the NHLPA knows it, the problem is the majority of the people just see someone made a proposal and think the owners are trying. Both sides are pretty pathetic atm because they haven't even come close to offering a proposal that can actually be tweaked enough to work for both sides.

You would think these people would remember the massive amount of fans and money they lost due to the last lockout but I guess not.

Judai, id like to know what part of the new owners proposal wasnt open for negotians? Based on the bullet points they submited and what the players said "they would take a pay cut if it meant more HRR sharing." The leauge left the HRR open for negotiating but Fehr comes in and gives the owners a big FU with out even trying haggle with the owners on some issues.

But like what brill said, the problem is that it would be around 50-50 but only if the revenue never increase.

Also putting arbitary at 5 years (or 4) is stupid.

But what annoys me the most is the fast that the owners refuse to honor the contracts they made before.

Now for the people saying the players are greedy : Everyone is in a side BUT Owners ask them to go from 57 to 43 which is immondus and stupid, Players don<t mind to lower they salary even to 50% instead of 57% the problem is they want the owners to sacrafice something too, which the owners don<t want to atm.

Look at the offer 50-50 the owners made. Find me 1 thing that would be at the advantage of the players 1! name it!
